Any one have any updates on this? Does Toyota have a fix? Taking a long trip on the 22nd and it would be nice to have it taken care of prior to that.

Yep, just ran my VIN again and it is now showing up on the recall lookup site. I had checked when the recall notice was first coming out and nothing showed then. Thought I was in the clear as my trucks build date was early 2018 but it seems maybe the affected production range is bigger than they initially stated.

The wrinkle is I had my truck in the dealership about 2 weeks ago for an issue I was having when gassing up the truck. Turned out to be a problem with the valve from the filler tube not opening all the way, and I got a brand new fuel tank put in (under warranty). I'm wondering if my truck was put on the recall list based on the original build date with the original fuel tank, or if the newly installed fuel tank is what put it on the recall list.

Toyotas lack of progress on this recall is terrible. Toyota should have found a suitable replacement fuel pump and begun implementing a recall by now. The most difficult part of this implementation should be identifying a source for around a million vehicles. I wonder how much this is impacting sales volumes?

Get a new fuel pump that is 2 years newer than the one they will be replacing. I'm okay with that. I wish they would recall a couple other things lol.

Called my service contact at my dealership this morning also. She said that they didn't know when the replacement parts were going to be available, and that she wasn't sure if they had a list going yet for getting a reserved spot for having the service done. She is going to check if there was a list, and let me know if I could get in the que.

With the current coronavirus pandemic, I wouldnt be surprised if it takes some time to get the part ready... Manufacturing is stalled, trade is stalled, work is stalled...

My dealer has a wait list for the recall. I was told that Toyota is months away from having parts ready for this recall.

I mean it stalled out in an intersection, clearly with some sort of issue, so I limped it three blocks down the street to the local dealer and dropped it off, haven't driven it since.

    It's not safe to drive.

    That's engine and transmission.

Toyota can only do so much when they OEM parts from another manufacturer...they have no control over them and any manufacturing defects another manufacturer can have.

I think it's important to know that instead of going under blanket, generalized statements you hear from word of mouth.
