Each aftermarket company is different therefore your question is crazy vague.

Do you know what you're asking?

    Yeah, this is pretty vague.

There are hundreds of different styles. These were the ones for my bumper:

Then there were 20 different things that welded to them.

Yes !! Quite simple to look at both parts and figure out what needs to be done .

It does help to have been doing these things since working on the Ark .

When Carpenters started the rumor it was built of wood .

Thing is so often the owner of the bumper buying it the last time has no idea who made the bumper or what it even was made to fit .

Was told it was to fit these vehicles because that is what the buyer wanted to hear!

Do you plan to mount a winch ??

Are you planning to need to do recovery from the front on a regular basis??

Is this a Mall Crawler or real world off road truck??

Have any friends that can help close by?

Maybe tell us where you are if you were close to me I would be glad to help

There are quite a few different ways you can go about doing this .

You can build things around commercial parts or make them all your self.

Depending on your budget and time frame .

Have you decided on a design for your bumper yet plate style or tube type or maybe a blend of both ??

through out the years Toyota has changed how the factory bumper mounts... early first gens had a longer frame horn that extended forward and IMHO are easier to mount, later years, 98 and up I believe, have an removable frame extension that is made of thin metal... I think it is a crush box, anyway, they are a little harder. For 2000 and up I am not sure.

There was a posting here a week or so back where a guy had his aftermarket bumper stolen in a parking lot. If it is easy to install it is easy to steal.

It’s going to be a mix the frame is going to be made of tube and then we are going to weld 1/4 inch diamond plate onto it

That just sounds like extra steps with extra weight. My plate dumper has 1/4" for the winch plate, but everything else is 3/16".

If you go with a tube design, there's no need to weigh it down with a bunch of 1/4" plate as well.

    Also, why diamond plate?
