silver, the other 30+ people with you on evolution must not be able to answer the question either. Funny how any response to this always fails to prove evolution, or even focus on evolution, but always turns to focus on the Bible:confused:
You are telling me about what I believe? I'm asking you for one simple answer. Dinosaurs were on this earth, we have the proof. If the beginning of all things can't be answered, then all that follows is_________.
:eek:you just voted for 3 of the 4 in that statement.
    X2
God created the animals as we have them today.
    unanswerable???
    X2..........quite simple actually.

In the beginning God created the Heavens and Earth.............plain and simple literal truth.........
In evolution the mass showed up............
    No answers yet..................:)

    Hello Silverbullet05,

I appreciate your viewpoint, and the fact that you are bringing up positions and issues that many other people also share. I think the gist of the issue that concerns most Christians is that the big bang, and evolution is being taken as fact - taught in school text books as fact, not theory. Even evolution requires faith, faith that men's scientfic conclusions are "factual". And if the big-bang and evolution were in fact a reality, then what are the odds that people in the small span of time that humans have supposedly been on earth, have it right ? Probably several million to one if not a billion or more to one. And at the most basic level, the law of cause and effect dictates that if there was a "big-bang" then something had to have caused it - that cause had to be outside of time and space. I submit that the cause of the origin of the universe had to be at the very least some eternal "force", which I believe to be GOD.

And BTW, there are many factual statements in the Bible about various aspects of science - statements made long before modern scientists figured these things out, a couple of examples:

    Hydrology:

Job 36:27-28--"He [God] draws up the drops of water, they distill rain from the mist, which the clouds pour down, they drip upon man abundantly"

    Gravity:

Before the time of Galileo, it was not known that the air had weight. Evangelista Torricelli, a student of Galileo, invented the first barometer, proving the air has pressure. However, Scripture implied that thousands of years before. Job 28:25 says, "He imparted weight to the wind"

    Round earth:

In contrast to the widely held ancient belief that the earth was flat, the Bible clearly teaches that it is round. Isaiah 40:22 says, "It is He who sitteth upon the circle of the earth."

Regarding your statement about God allowing hatred, greed, and unhappiness, God does allow these things, but in the long term all things work together for our good (Romans 8:28) and for His glory - even though we may not always see these outcomes in our lifetimes.

My existence is not about me, or even the temporal things I see on this earth. My existence is soley for purposes of bringing glory to God. Realizing this, it makes it much easier to accept many of the difficulties that I see on this earth, knowing that God is working all these things together in exactly the right way to bring Him the most glory. And that I will be the most happy when I am doing that which brings Him the most glory. That, is what we were created for.

Thanks for listening. I hope it helps you to better understand where many Christians are coming from, and that we are not just a bunch of morons that sluff of all scientific arguments, but rather welcome them.

Well, without reading everyone's response, I believe that the Universe is vast. Words can't describe the size and mass of the Universe. Something had to have started it all. Was the force that started the Universe, God? If that force has to have a name, I guess God would be a good name for it. Is it the same God as in the bible? I really don't think so. Look at how many religions there are on this planet. Who's right? We are just a microscopic speck in this Universe. I don't think that the religions that are man made have any weight in the Universe.

I would be curious to see what Charli's view is on this.

actually that could be a possibility of 2 votes....neither or lil of both...not 3...and i said that i didnt know how this all started, but i would believe evloution over creationism...and i said before that the lil of both could be that something created us and then evolution took over....that was to support someone that was getting bashed for saying a lil of both...

but if u "believe" everything, then muslim and christian bot branched off of abraham. a lot of good that did. most of the hatred and fighting of the world has come on the bck of either religion itself or posing as religion

yeah but haven't you ever seen southpark? they proved that if you did away with religion then we would find something else to fight over. and if south park did an episode on it then you know its true.

Here is a link with a detailed account of evolution. very enlightening, i suggest everyone take a look....

South Park also proved that the only correct religion was Mormonism.

Wow, what a discussion! I cast my vote, and that's about it. I'm not going to jump in and argue my side because one is not going to convice the other here... I respect everyone's opinions and just want it to be "all good", LOL

First of all, evolution is a theory. If you believe in evolution, it is a belief based on faith that the theory is correct. Evolutionists believe that in the beginning, there was nothing, a big void. Then, there was a big bang that marked the beginning of the universe as we know it. So far, that does not contradict the account in Genesis. The order in which things came into existence is also consistent. Evolutionists and creationists believe that the universe and its planets came first. Then came plants, then sea creatures, then land animals, and finally, Man.

Where the evolutionists and creationists part is timing, and who, or what is given credit. The inaccuracies of carbon dating can be debated forever. The evolutionists accredit the beginning of the universe, and the beginning of life to chance. Then, the single cell ameba evolves to higher life forms through survival of the fittest. If the species all evolve to higher life forms, why do we still have fish? How did the single cell ameba know to evolve into two different sexes? The probability of life beginning in its simplest by chance is near impossible. What are your chances of drawing the ace of spades out of a deck of cards? 1 in 52. So, if I held out a deck of cards, how confidant are you in drawing the ace of spades? Would you bet your Tacoma on it?

Evolutionists believe the complexities we see in the universe just happened. Creationists believe that all the magnificent beauty that surrounds us is intricately designed by a creator.

So what it boils down to is credit. Let’s give credit where credit is due. I believe God created the universe, because to believe that it all happened by chance seems even more impossible.

What I'm saying is the Universe was not from a man made religion. Not Christian, Muslim, Budism. Something more powerful than anything Humans can imagine created it. By the Big Bang theory or something else.

Well, in a manner of speaking yes. Realize that Bible believing Christians believe in a cataclysmic worldwide flood that vastly changed the climate. Post-Flood climatic change, lack of food, disease, and man’s activities caused many types of animals to become extinct. The dinosaurs, like many other creatures, died out.
