I can put manual hubs on the rear too... but that is the danger zone because I don't want people unlocking them on me for the lulz

Means the axle shaft is separate from the hub

so yeah unbolt the axle and the hub is seperate from the diff youd just have a gaping hole gear lube can come out of and dirt can go in

Also, the weight is supported by the hub instead of the axle shaft

Frame shop around here is highway robbery. They wanted $200 for a 16x14 matted frame in Mahogany.

I fit my full size 285 in the stock location cutting the two tabs off that angle down in the rear (front would have made it touch the axle so left them on). Ruined my clearance a bit but was fine for the 6 months while I planned the swingout

Best pic below unfortunately. Also did an exhaust chop when installing the new suspension and purposefully kept it a little longer so the hot temp didnt affect the spare

I don't think a bigger tire would fit without rubbing the leafs

Bell housing on the 2.4 and 2.7 with a W59 4wd or 2wd are exactly the same. So you can use the one off the 2.4 and it bolts directly to the 4wd W59 or you can use the bellhousing off the 4wd W59 and it will bolt rite up to the 2.4. As for the axle find your self a 6lug axle the 2wd axle is only a 7.5 @Sperrunner has shafts and housings

A 10.5” wide tire will fit nicely then, neat.
