RTT, AT Habitat, GFC, etc owners, how do your rigs do in high wind situations?

When I had a RTT it was quite noisy in the wind. When I had a GFC it worked very well with the wedge positioned pointing into the wind. There was only one time the wind was strong enough to start pushing it down and it was probably blowing 40mph plus up by the Arctic Ocean.

My Tepui RTT does not do well in high-wind situations. Whenever we go camping, we make sure to have some good blockage where we settle, and always make sure to check weather reports. But this really applies for all of my tent setup. My ground tent and hammock tent suck just as much in highwind.

does it matter which way the tent is setup? like wind blowing from the front rather than the fold part? ive been looking at a tepui low pro but wind can be a big issue here in colorado

Doesn't matter which direction unfortunately, it's the soft canvas material that gets really loud when it catches wind. The tent itself is extremely durable, it's just that if you're trying to sleep, the tent will sound like it's caught in a hurricane if it catches some decent wind. Hope I'm not sounding a downer, I love my RTT, but I will say that my least favorite thing about the tent is how it handles wind. I've been contemplating if I would eventually upgrade to an iKamper, assuming those hardshells RTT can fair better with wind, but the trade off with those are the extra weight and cost.
