Yeah, it's no-brainer for me. The Sabattus Park & Ride and Town Office/PD are right off of the highway, so they can't even argue that it's inconvenient to get to.

I'd love to get a set of sliders for my truck, I just can't justify the price.

I justified it like this, steps are ok but they hook into your rocker panel and are pretty flimsy. If you ever are thinking about going offroad, it is a no brainer. If you not going to take your truck offroad, it is the best "door ding" protection you can get. If you need to put something on your roof rack, they are sturdy as hell to stand on. Most sliders are very high in price but honestly with the black friday and tax-man deals that SOS Concepts puts on....for me it was a no brainer.

Even bolt on sliders are cheaper than fixing when you need them.

I'll probably get a set, I don't plan to do off roading enough to actually need them, but the first time I went out I felt/heard my skid plate take a light swipe, so I'll probably end up with skids and sliders, they're cheaper than the alternative o_O

    Edit:
    1. Hold on tight just added 3 years to my retirement in 9 minutes!
    2. Rock sliders - I'm thinking get them raw and do a DIY bedliner on them. Anyone done that before?

Most of my retirement is in the state pension system, but I have a Roth that has lost 10% in the past month. I just keep contributing like I normally do with every paycheck--it'll rebound eventually and what I keep putting in while it's low will only help me later.

Yeah I am debating about dumping 2020 roth contributions soon rather than DCA throughout the year.

I have direct deposit send $230 per paycheck over to my Vanguard account which gets auto-invested the day after. I suppose I could stop that for the rest of the year and just put whatever's left of the $6k in all at once, but it's a pain to go through the forms to change it.

I also have a goal for my cash savings and I'm not there yet so I'd rather not take a hit on that to try to time the market.

I have rustoleum primer, rustoleum bedliner, and rustoleum high performance flat black enamel on mine. Makes touch up pretty easy and the spray cans can be found in a variety of places

Mmm. I do manual deposits straight to Betterment Roth, plus my company normal 401k contributions. direct deposit is easy for us fortunately. I just do it manually and keep track so I know if I'm at my limits.

Hmmm I have high temp enamel I got originally for my grill but never used. But, yeah I'd probably do a rattle can. How does yours hold up? Do you have a lot of touch ups?

Taking the bike and dog for a trail run after work. Shakedown to see what I need on the bike this year. I'm thinking new brakes and a chain are all I'll need. Hopefully.

There's a name I haven't heard in a while. I still stop at the mall sometimes to look for CD's, but sadly I'm left turning to Amazon for many of them now. I also have a knack for finding albums I want that seem to go for $100's, for used copies!

It holds up well, doesn't chip too much. I play in the rocks a lot so rattle can for me made the most sense. I also put like 6 or 7 coats of paint total on them to start... I do wear down the paint on top of my slider from getting in and out of the truck especially when the sliders are dirty, but it just takes some cardboard and time to touch up my sliders

Thats good to hear. You ever look at them and think they look janky with the diy? I'm thinking probably getting them in raw and then doing the paint myself like you is probably my best bet. Did you get them raw or did you get them done and touch up yourself after?

I'm at least a little excited for it. Even me, I'll probably never use the Tacoma to its true potential with towing and payload. We'll see, they could also f it up. If it comes hybrid though I'd consider it in years time. Maybe once I see the 4th gen Tacoma.

I just think it would be awesome to have an older style truck that is as simple as legally possible, but new crash test safety. I'd get it as basic as it could be in 4wd, hopefully a locker. Then you can do a nice lift and stereo and still be at 30k. Would be the perfect little off-roader and home depot truck. I'd prob cruise it as a DD too in bad weather.
