Looks like raw sheet metal made to "OEM spec". Anyone have experiance with these kind of parts?
Would love a scoop, but there are a lot of unknowns about this one.

 

On my 4Runner I had a Taiwanese made sport hood I put OEM hood scoop incert in, the only thing different was it didn't have TOYOTA stamped in the front.

3rd parties buy the stamps dies molds and machines etc from OEMs (like Toyota) when they're no longer in production or when the tolerances are no longer *perfect* and that's how you get these recreations.

They're 95%+ the exact same thing and fit and finish are usually just as good as well.

Just keep in mind that's not black paint that's on them, that's primer and if you don't get it painted it will RUST LIKE A MOTHER FUCKER.

Personally having bought an aftermarket sport hood I would have no qualms about another, like I said they're made on the EXACT same machines.

Just double check for any in shipping/handling damage and you should be fine.

Worse case scenario your panel gaps are off by a mill or two but no one will notice and you saved a BUTT TON of cash.

Last note, in my experience with the 3rd gen 4Runner Toyota was the 9 place to get the hood scoop insert and trim and even with my pricing then the fiberglass insert grill trim and hardware cost just as much as the aftermarket hood and the paint job.

Thule Tracone Tracrac. Customized tracrac for 3rd Gen Tacoma (height reduced by 4", width reduced by 9"). Comes with 3rd Gen Clamps, upgraded allen bolts (reduced height) and Generic OEM clamps.
