ALL WRONG info. all of that is gen.2 info:

    3rd Gen.
There’s also a brand-new rear axle with 8.75-inch ring gear and high-strength axletubes. The BD22A is the “normal” 8.75-inch axle and the BD22AN 8.75-inch axle is fitted with an electric rear locker. The BD22AN will be included in TRD Off-Road package-equipped trucks. These new 8.75-inch axles contribute to a gross axle weight rating improvement of 24 percent. It’s also worth noting that the electronic rear diff locker now has an internally-mounted drive motor as opposed to the external motor found on the previous Tacoma. Up front, the centersection and axleshafts are carryover from the previous-gen truck. All of the hubs are stronger and of a new design due to new wheel slippage sensors.

All manual transmission trucks get the 8.75" rear.
TRD OR & Pro also get the 8.75" AT and MT.

cool story, it’s not wrong, just the wrong gen. A simple mistake of clicking off homepage without checking sub forum, a simple response would have been more appropriate. Enjoy the thread.

I agree with some of those points but that's why I don't knock anyone's rigs. Everyone has different tastes and needs! I'm buying a Sport. But I know some will knock me for that but I dont really care. Buy and build what you like and need. If someone wants to lift their truck just because they like the aesthetics better I don't have a problem with that....some do...who am I to tell them their idiots for that!

I could be wrong, but doesn't the current V6 OffRoad come with an 8.75" rear diff?

I've had multiple trucks and Land Cruisers and never lifted any of them - one LC came to me already lifted and had I not sold it, I would have taken it back to stock with skinnies. My 2018 is stock and I run 235/85/16's with acres of room left over for tucking and turning, lots of ground clearance, and it drives like a Cadillac.

Also for those of you who only did a 2" front leveling lift. Was there a need to aim for headlights down a little afterwards?

Pffttt, that's nothing. I run the 185/50/16s from the smart car on my truck. Hectares of room. Not so much ground clearance so I just build up lots of speed to get over obstacles. download (5).jpg

The off road also gets the electrically boosted brake master cylinder with individual solenoid control for each brake. That’s what allows ATRAC and crawl control/multi terrain select.

I have no experience with crawl control but ATRAC on my gen 2 works awesome.
