Weeps a bit out the shifter even with 2 qts but I am loving this thing!

    4.7:1 is so, so nice

Hell yes! Glad to hear it. 1.5 qts. Mine spits out anything more than that.

Where is that picture? Looks like pucker pass out in Moab.

I've been monitoring it with a temp him and kind of cross comparing it to the transfer case. The crawl box is usually about 20*F warmer. I think I want a temp gauge for it.

We in Moab! No crossmember support for the crawl box yet so I'm not trying to get too crazy. Dude... compound low is a definite game changer. Going up and man I love it when coming down things

Hell yes! What better place to test it? Enjoy every moment of it! It def is a game changer. I love the fact that you're breaking in the crawlbox by driving it across the country to the greatest place on earth for offroading.

How hot is it running? I hauled ass out to moab after my install and I didnt monitor temps but the crawl box shifter definitely got hotter than I would have like on the way out...ya know based on the scientific measurement of touch. I hadnt sealed my floorboard yet so the smell of gear oil in the cab was intoxicating. It has never gotten that hot since though. I did change my oil at 5k.

From NC to Texas to Moab in less than 48 hours! I did change the oil after the first 500 miles but it was mostly because it was leaking like a stuck piggy and I wanted to know how much was still in it. Turns out it was about 1.5 qts but the oil was blown all over the under side of the truck so it looked like a lot more than it was.

Half a quart looks like a lot when it's blown around into a fine mist

    Like my lift?

    78B3240F-032D-46AE-9495-6DECF392365F.jpg

First change, a lot more than I was expecting and I was happy to see it.

Hey so this weird thing has happened since the install. And I cannot make any sense of it. I constantly bitch about my fuel economy, 12.8-13.3 is normal. Even on the highway. Since the install my fuel economy has gone UP.

    Here's my most recent fill-up

I was showing about half a tank
    53426FEE-A31E-49DA-8090-1ED4DDB664C0.jpg

Corrected trip meter for tire size is 206.2 miles driven

    Fuel
    51BD5A32-9CDD-4DF6-82EA-3CDC2A741945.jpg

    That's 18.5 mpg
    I've NEVER gotten 18.5.
On the way back from NC I was consistently getting 16+ mpg

I expected to lose fuel economy, not gain it!

Temp wise it's around 200-210 at the bottom of the case. Usually. It will go up after a stop or slow-down. I once saw it hit 325 and thought for sure it had dumped all the oil. Since I only have the shifter handle base in and not the handle itself-

    71EC1B3B-D618-4ED2-9825-03C384940D50.jpg

-I also do the super-scientific method of "touch and find out". It didn't get warm today on the trail with compound low. But, I was mostly using low-low for descents so there wasn't really any work going into it. I used the hell out of 4.7:1 though, I'm loving all the options

I sealed it up, mostly, but I do get the gear oil smell if I crack a window. Wife hates that. Hopefully getting the shift boot back on will kill that. I'll see if I can't find a lowrider shop around San Antonio to do a custom one for me or something.

Can't recommend the FJ case and ADD delete enough. Even without the crawl box. I used 2Low for at least an hour yesterday and it's really handy in tight, busy parking lots and backing up.

The ADD at least. Might need the transfer case switch, too. I gave it a little too much :smash: trying to get it in 2WD lol

    That, too.

All I have left in upkeep/upgrades is re-gear, fix 4WD system, engine air filter, cabin air filter and passenger inner tie rod.

I'm about to hit 130k, but I've already changed out all but the engine oil and rotated the tires.

It's an easy swap and it's awesome watching it go in and out of 4wd as soon as you throw the lever

Check your crank seal, mine just started leaking at 115k
