A busy day. Did some mechanic's work--changed the oil in a Tacoma and put a rear end in a recliner.

:hattip:Morning folks. Have a great day.

Nope, still running factory suspension. Thought about a lift and when I figured the cost, I decided to take another vacation instead:D.

Morning, all! Yesterday was absolutely gorgeous here in NEPA - almost hit 70 F...of course I spent the day at work so....... At least Spring is on the way! And to prove it, today we get rain. :)

Stock Pro suspension on my truck - won't be lifting it.

    Morning All,
I've lifted mine. Did a Dobinson's 2.5 with heavier rear springs since I'm usually hauling something.

I only use my truck for sole transportation, cutting firewood, camping. Would like to add a helper spring maybe to the rear as I tend to get my worth out of a trip to the woods for wood. :) Spent too much to possibly tear my truck up doing what the younger bucks are doing, although they do what I wish I did.
    Good morning y'all.

Anyone here also speaking to your financial planner guy/girl as much as I am?!?!?
I very politely informed him that he and his team better be doing everything they can to keep me where I want to be...as in financially secure.
I know what I have, I know what's going on...I'm just watching...getting ready for the rebound!

Mine called a day ago, no reason to call back as we use emails. Any value loss and monthly withdrawal effect on total will be negligible I think if this lasts a few months.

Never had money in the market until 15 years ago. A friend who we met took our money and made a lot of money for us so we gave him our(wifes 403 and a small 401 I had) and all has been going well until now. I am surprised I havent gotten a call while I'm away. Hopefully the market will rebound before we need the money.

Back in '08 when things took a dive, my 401k lost 1/4 to 1/3 of its value. When things slowly came back, it was higher than before. I now draw off of it, SS. annuities and another fund I put my share of the proceeds from the sale of my late moms place. Didn't do many things all those years, never lived the American dream so much like others. Seen people who made very good money, always slow making payments on what they had.

Never worried about my $$$ back years ago, but now that I don't have to work and make more than when I worked, I worry more. Maybe afraid if it disappeared , I'd have to go back to work.
I've worked a second job or found a second source of income. I've had to sell firewood, work weekends, O/T or whatever, sell off motorcycles, electronics or that nicer vehicle. I never made much money, just made do with what I had. You can see why I want to take it easy.

Agree with you100% Duane. Started working parttime as a butcher delivery boy at 12 and finally retired from fulltime at 65 1/2 then worked part time doing dealer trades for 3 1/2 years. We live comfortably but both the wife and I both put our time in and now it is our time. Money helps, but ones health is the main key. Enjoying what one does is all that matters.

    Evening all:
Evening Ken , IT IS FISHING SEASON, walleyes are open in the river year round, just need to get up there. This is a pre spring/late winter to dream about, don't see this often, the walleye should be on the feed pre spawn and baring any heavy rain there should be a good window to catch them in.

The market is in panic mode, maybe it just needed an excuse for a correction, I have been buying PPL over the last few days, if it goes lower I will buy more, 5 1/2% dividends are better than NOTHING that banks are paying, and the almost nothing that money markets have been paying. I've bought and sold PPL multiple times over the years and been treated very well every time I took a position in it, hopefully this time will be no different.
Like others on here, I'm more interested in preservation of capitol and a cash flow from dividends at this stage of the game, any capitol gains are just a bonus.
I can also see the market getting very nervous as Nov. approaches, Nov. 4th. could see a huge surge or drop in the market, If I can make some decent gains it may be the best to grab them and see what happens as Nov. approaches. For me to do that I would want to be about 2 yrs. out on dividends, that way I wouldn't be losing my butt on dead money making little to no interest.
The market is like a chess game and I sure as heck aint no grand master, if I make a little bit here, and a little bit there, I'm happy! :)
