Time to vote today ladies and gents and dont forget NO ON 13!!
Bastards are trying to raise taxes again "to fix the schools" that has an absolutely massive budget already that has been misappropriated or as they say "borrowed" for other projects so they want more money. Slimy politicians !!
They want to raise taxes on us to do it by removing the 1% tax cap on property taxes and allow then to bump them up. And all you renters will feel it too, your rent will go up due to this from operating costs passed on to the end user, the renter.
They want to borrow 15 BILLION dollars that has a payback of an extra 12 Billion in interest to do it. Unbelievable!!! For a total of 27 BILLION DOLLARS! The law is written in such a way that they leave out the details about that extra TAX they are going to employ.
Hope you guys had a great weekend! Heading down right now to vote and hope others do too. Its insane its even on the ballot..
Imagine if WE audited the government, I think we would be thoroughly horrified to say the least.
Have a great day everyone! Just taking a quick break from work to go throw my vote in the hat, lol.

This is a bond measure, not a tax one. The limit on % property value is not your property tax, but the maximum dollars local government can sell local bonds based on % District/public owned lands assessed value. There is no increase in tax, but the fear is that increasing the amount the local governments can borrow (sell bonds) would eventually lead to increased taxes to pay for those bonds in the future.

Bonds have been a way of government funding since it's inception, and as someone with a 401K, bonds are an important, stable and reliable portion of our retirement portfolios.

As someone who has many family members in early education, we do need to fix much of our infrastructure. Is this the best way? That is our individual choice when voting. I agree there are many miss-appropriated tax revenue in our state!

And to add, all this money is eventually funneled back to private industry in the forms of construction workers, retailers and trades persons. It increases the property value of public owned lands via the improvement in building infrustructure, so it is also a public investment in that way too. Not to mention the investment into our future generations.

    This why I’m voting NO

That being said, this is California and it will still win

Tomorrow (Tuesday Mar 10) at 6:30 pm San Diego Natural History Museum theatre:
    https://youtu.be/n129NLe6gNE

Letter from the producer... San Diego March 10, & San Luis Obispo March 19, 20, 21.

    Hello David;

I am not sure if you know already, but our film, The Devil's Road, has been selected to the San Luis Obispo Film Festival and, as you know, will be shown at the San Diego Natural History Museum. We have been submitting to as many film festivals as monetarily possible and have a few more that we are in consideration. We are still very hopeful that more festivals will find our film worthy of selection and may show closer to you again. Please share this information with other Baja enthusiasts, etc.

Your work and input in our film project has been invaluable and we want to share this experience with you.

On March 10th, we will be in San Diego where the film will be featured during an exclusive showing in their "I-Max" type theater. The doors open at 5:30 and the show starts at 6:30. Following the show there will be a 45 minute Question and Answer session with a few of the scientists featured in the film and our filmmakers. Advanced tickets can be purchased at: https://www.sdnhm.org/calendar/public-programs/nattalks-and-...

Then, on March 19 - 22, we will be showing the film three times during the SLO Film Festival. The times and dates of the shows are as follows:

    • Thursday March 19 at 4:30pm

    • Saturday March 21 at 10:00am

    • Sunday March 22 at 3:00pm

If you want to join us, all of the showing will be at the Downtown Centre Cinemas at 888 Marsh Street and I would suggest arriving 30 minutes early to ensure a ticket. Advanced tickets may be sold through the SLO Film Festival website.

We are so excited and hope to see you at a showing in the future and please let me know if you are planning to attend so we can visit and share this moment with you. If you have any questions, please give me a call. See you in San Diego on the 10th

    Todd Bruce

Oh, I was told that my book appears in the film when a local camp owner gave the producers a copy of it during their filming... They then looked me up and interviewed me in San Marcos and part of that made the final cut in the movie! [IMG]

Hi everyone! Not new to SD (been here for a couple years) but new to the Taco community. After lusting for years, I picked up my dream taco last week. We camp quite a bit, and are hoping the Taco will help us get out to more remote sites (too many humans at all the local campgrounds!).

Looking forward to learning stuff from the folks here (both about trucks and the area!)

Traffic was very light today for a work day. Maybe people worked from home. The high school near me is shutdown for coronavirus
