Hey guys. I am trying to repaint my roof that had some rust. I want to make sure it looks seamless so I am gonna repaint the whole roof panel from edge to edge. I cannot figure out how to remove the rubber seal around the back window. I want it out of the way so I can paint right up to the edge of the window. Is there a trick to removing it or is it permanently attached to the window itself?

So the whole window has to come out? I thought the window would be glued in like the windshield.

I got the headliner and trim off around the back window. It is definitely glued in with the same type of sealant at the windshield. I am wondering if I can just take it somewhere like safelight and have them remove it and then reinstall it when I am done.

Yep. I could definitely get it out that way, but I think I would jave to get someone to put it back in for me.

Yes, you probably would. The above info is from the Tacoma service manual.
