I'm running 35's right and hoping to go 37's once these tires are done. So, when I got 5.29s, I was planning ahead for 37's. 3rd gens have an extra over drive gear vs second gen and that really helps keeping RPM's low on freeway even with 5.29s. what surface tension issues? I thought new 3rd gens rear diffs are 8.75 inches and better than second gen diffs?

So when i left my gig, i told a few people i was going to work for nascar. Some i told hooters. Some i told the state. Well, one of my new employees is friends with some dude from my old job on linked in and he fucken posted a pic of the new team. Needles to say, my old organization knows where i went, including my asshole of an ex boss. I guess it doesnt matter, but i wanted to leave and be forgotten. Vent over

See, shows how much I know. I didn’t know that all 3rd gens get the 8.75 rear diffs. What about the fronts? Are they the same as the second gens? Please don’t talk me out of my truck... I still haven’t realized all the plans for this build yet. And 37’s are HUGE for the average off-roader. I guess I’m getting older now. I feel like I’m about to say something along the lines of “I remember when...” But I just can’t do that because the real old farts might take offense to be regaled about the good old days of wheelin back in the nineties.

It was surreal today driving back from Berkeley to Alameda on 880 at 6pm. I don't think I've ever made that trip that fast before.

My job is an office job in Roseville and they’re debating it. But I’ve heard we won’t go home unless there’s a confirmed case in our building :bananadead::bananadead::bananadead::bananadead:

No doubt. My wife was instructed to work from home for the next two weeks due to two coworkers testing positive. She works at Genentech, in South City. I have no idea how many people will work from home, but the lab staff will still have to work on campus. She's part of the support team, and can do much from home.

Sort of looking for a softopper for the bed so I have somewhere to transport and joy ride with the puppy doge around without the interior getting destroyed with dog hair.

Anyone know anyone who is selling one locally? I havent seen any on Craigslist, but I like their mobility over a hard shell.

No. I mean the "remember when shit". I'm certainly one of the old farts, so go for it.

Oh. Yeah. 50 Willy’s pickup with a summit crate engine in it in high school along with a few other Jeeps(a few flatties and a 67 Jeepster). Lotsa Toyota pickups and plenty of broken birfields, trans output shafts, wheelstuds... etc, etc. I used to pal around with a lot of Jeepers even after I got my hands on a 40 series. We did Fordyce a few times in 95-96, the Rubicon the same years, plus the times throughout my childhood, the Dusey back in 96 and Johnson Valley in 96 as well. 35’s were considered “big” tires and quarter elliptic rear suspension was “wild” stuff. I ran spring over in the 40 series until I sold it. Broke quite a few mini truck axles back then. Upgrading to IFS brakes and 85 mini truck hubs and axles was all the rage(I guess now it’s tons) and Rancho shocks still sucked but they made an extended length model RS9000 that was respectable enough not to be rattled to death without breaking the bank(college bank account). I always wanted to dual case that 67 FJ40 but instead I spent the time and money on the engine. I put in GM HEI ignition, GM TBI fuel injection(ran okay’ish) and a custom header. Butch Lewis did the Spring Over conversion and a few other metal fab things. It was a great truck. I try and stay out of the rocks now because it’s too much pain in the wallet and I don’t like to dent up my purdy truck. I find myself gravitating to the desert a lot more.

I believe the OR and Pro’s are 8.75” diffs. The other 3rd gens are 8” I think.
