that’s why Italy and a lot of Europe have shut down. There are more events that have been cancelled in the US. Check out how it has spread in the US from March 6 with only 260 confirmed cases to this morning with 755 Confirmed cases. Just let you guys know what I have heard and discovered.

I get it, but it's not as bad as the media is making it out to be. The flu kills more people every year. The coronavirus has only proven deadly to elderly and people that aren't in the best health to begin with.

We have 2 of our docs that swear they had it(one got back from S. Korea at the right time and probably gave it to the other). They were sick for a few days and nothing. The doc that got sick from the original doc had his wife and 3 of the 4 kids get sick.

Again, as long as you're not elderly or have pre-existing conditions, keep your hands clean and don't let people cough in your face...………...the chances of you being fine are greater than you having problems from the coronavirus.

It has the same symptoms as flu.

March is typically the wettest month of the year for Alabama.

WET AT TIMES: After a nice four day stretch of dry weather, rain has returned to Alabama this morning. The good news is that it won’t rain all day, but expect occasional showers through tonight… otherwise the day will be cloudy and mild with a high around 70 degrees. The average high for Birmingham on March 10 is 65.

TOMORROW: Temperatures will rise into the low to mid 70s as the mild weather continues. A few showers are possible, but a decent part of the day will be dry. There is some conditional risk of a few heavier storms late tomorrow or tomorrow evening, but many of the high resolution CAMs (convection allowing models) show very few thunderstorms due to warmer air aloft and weak dynamic forcing. SPC has a “marginal risk” (level 1/5) up for the far northwest corner of Alabama.

If we do see a few stronger storms tomorrow evening, the main threat could come from hail and gusty winds. Forecast upper air conditions don’t support tornado formation.

REST OF THE WEEK: The sky will stay mostly cloudy Thursday and Friday, and occasional showers remain likely both days. But again, not a “wash-out”. Highs will stay in the low 70s for most communities. Rain amounts between now and Friday will be in the 1-2 inch range for most of North/Central Alabama, and flooding is not expected.

THE ALABAMA WEEKEND: South Alabama will be dry Saturday and Sunday, but the forecast for the northern half of the state is a bit “iffy”. We will need to mention some risk of showers over the weekend for North Alabama, mainly on Sunday. The best chance of some rain Saturday will be close to the Tennessee state line. Temperatures will remain mild with highs at or over 70 degrees for most locations.

NEXT WEEK: The mild, showery weather continues with highs in the 70s. Not seeing any major severe weather signals at this point for Alabama next week, and for now it looks like rain amounts won’t be too heavy. See the Weather Xtreme video for maps, graphics, and more details.

ON THIS DATE IN 1986: Severe thunderstorms and tornadoes hit Indiana, Kentucky, and Ohio. A total of 19 tornadoes occurred. Three of the tornadoes in Indiana reached EF3 intensity. A densely populated subdivision of Southeast Lexington, Kentucky, was heavily damaged by a tornado. Twenty people were injured, and 900 homes were destroyed or demolished. A very strong thunderstorm downburst hit the Cincinnati area. At the Greater Cincinnati Airport, windows were blown out of the control tower, injuring the six controllers on duty. At Newport, Kentucky, 120 houses were destroyed from winds estimated from 100 to 140 mph

So I believe that it has rained more days in 2020 than been sunny. At what point will the drivers of Alabama decide they are prepared for or comfortable driving in the rain. I just want to be able to drive the speed limit on my way to work/home!

Preach! Why do folks think, on a two lane road, with a limit of 55, that going 35 is safe??? Literally they are creating a rolling traffic jam with 25+ cars stacked up. It doesn't even have to be raining, just the roads being wet will slow these yahoos down to 20mph under the limit. They are creating a safety hazard. If you're that scared of wet roads, stay at home.

I feel the same way when it's dry, but towards speeding drivers haha. I just want to be able to drive the speed limit!

you do 65 on the interstate all the time or just in the rain?

I usually stay at speed limit or within 5 over.

Main thing that annoys me is people speeding more than that, that will get on your ass, or get annoyed at you for being where you are because they decide that they are breaking the law more than you so therefore they are the correct ones on the road...I don't mind folks going slower in the rain, if they'll stay over where we can pass...but if you're going to speed, don't get mad at the folks going the speed LIMIT.

Half of my daily commute is on 2 lane roads. I watched a guy pass 2 cars at once this morning b/c they were going 10 under the speed limit.

I do same if it’s a long straight away road I can see well ahead. 10 under is usually morning drives that I experience people doing.

How bad is your truck that you do 5 under the speed limit? I run 75 - 80 on the interstate at around 2.3K (fixed for Scotty) RPM. If it was only a 4 lane then you are still causing people to move over to around you while doing 70 (speed limit) and then slowing the ones driving faster even further down :goingcrazy::annoyed:

23,000 RPM ARE YOU MADDDDD WHAT KIND OF ENGINE DO YOU HAVE?!

also, no one should be going faster than 70, legally, so if they're having to slow down...good.

Yeah I get that gas mileage is important to some and not others. I really don't mind at all in my truck. Taco lifted with bigger tires still gets better than my old F150! I see trucks all the time chilling in the slow lane b/c they aren't built to go that fast. I normally just admire their build as I pass them. :burnrubber:

I do 70-73 on the interstate too, depending on traffic conditions. I always cruise in the right lane though and only get over when I need to pass someone and then it's back into the right lane.

Well you drive in Birmingham, so if you can ever do the speed limit I'd be impressed.

I'm glad they put law back into effect that tells everyone they are supposed to only be in the left lane to pass people. I drive the same, get over to pass and then move back if possible.
