    Didn't care for the 80s yotas. Early 90s was my favorite generation for style and balance of luxury/functionality.

    Still, 3rd gens are better than the old trucks in almost every way.

    I had an 81, single cab, 5 speed.no AC. Good transportation, lousy comfort. I knew I had it made when I upgraded to a 89 V6 long bed with AC.

    Had an '85 longbed standard cab 4-cyl 5-speed for 30 years. Sold it with 283K on the original clutch, only engine work was to adjust the valves, replaced the fuel pump and fuel filter, once.

    Wish I had bought the ExtraCab, and wish I had bought two.

    Shitty bench seat, no room single cab, 110hp, loud as hell, silly high school rims, but it has a solid axle.
