Toyos for sure, I've heard all kinds of bad things from KO2s from garbage balancing if not near impossible, to poor snow traction, awful rain traction with even the slightest bit of wear on the tires, noisy, tread exploding off of the belts. Plus everyone has them for "The Gram"

 

I absolutely love my KO2's! They're quiet, and stick to almost everything like glue.

However, if you live somewhere that is prone to flash flooding, they might not be a great choice for a daily driver. They tend to hydroplane, according to some. I haven't had any issues, but I tend to slow down in the rain. Just something to consider.

They're also not supposed to be the best in deep mud, but the other tires in the picture don't look like they would be great in mud, either.

Not true.

Mine are smooth as silk at 90 MPH.

Snow traction is good, but not the best I've driven.

Wet traction is excellent, but they are prone to hydroplaning, or so I hear.

28K on mine and still quiet and excellent in most situations.

 

I guess I'm old so my way of thinking may also be. I've run KO's on my company trucks for 25 years because they work. We're in Florida so no snow, but a lot of wet here. The E and C tires are of different compounds. The E's are worse on wet than the C. But our trucks, Tacomas, don't need E's. Also.... what is played out? or everyone has them? Maybe because they work? If that is a valid way to justify a mod, why not put some 40 series Pirelli's on it to be different?

 

AT2s SL is what I run. IMO way better than the BFGs and I ran those for25 years.

 

I love my played out BFG and run 41 psi which ride and handle excellent and was recommended by BFG. They do great in rain, ice , and dry weather.

Had BFG in the past;

They were great, didn't notice any hydroplaning, grippy and quiet enough on pavement, great on dirt and gravel.


This time I went with Toyo R/T;

 

Dam Son thems is nice rubba ! OP - did not have good luck with E-BFG's, bad wear, noisy, could not balance. Went with SL on the Revo 3's much better.

I've had both, and I'll stick with Toyo.

After talking with reps from both (used to work in automotive) the amount of r/d and technology in Toyo tires is generations above BFG.

Love my KO2's
i have been running bf goodrich all terrains for over 25 years. I've had BFG T/A KO's on 5 vehicles, and I have BFG T/A KO2's in my '17 tacoma trd sport.
I will not be switching to another brand as i have had nothing but good experiences on them. I avg around 40-45k+ before I replace em. thats with some light offroading but mostly pavement driving.
They're damn good tires.

right now i have 265/70/17's load C
I plan to install 285's next go around when i have Bilstein 5100's installed

 

I just got the 6112/5160 set up in my 18 DCLB OffRoad4X4 . I was thinking on sticking with stock wheels, and just run the 285’s. But do I have run the spacers. If so who has good spacers?

Toyos. Had the KO2s and they lost some wet traction after 20K. Maybe the Toyos are the same but that was my experience with the KO2s. One of the better looking tire though.
