Dealer Buyback on 2018?

You can drive mine for $150 a month, if you take care of it

 

I got one for my TDI VW Jetta

 

The dealership offered to buy back my 2016. They offered more than I owe. So that's good. I have received emails from Toyota a few times a year for the last 3 years to buy back my truck. It feels a little like they are trying to get potential problem Tacoma's off the roads so they don't hurt their consumer ratings. I've owned several Tacoma Trucks. They never asked to buy them back... Or, I'm just a conspiracy theorist..?

 

That's a big lie. Problem Toyota? There is no such thing!!!

 

I'm still getting buyback offers on the 2017 that I traded in last November!

 

Thats what I've ALWAYS said. Something just doesnt feel right, thats all...

 

Then they sell the one you just traded to someone else for you guessed it, monthly payments.

 

Dealerships always do this. The local Jeep dealer I had a recall done at sent me letters and stuff for years saying they wanted to buy it for their used car inventory. some of them even saying they could pay over KBB value. They came and got in my face about it when I was in the waiting area with the same story. it's just sales looking to hook a sucker into buying something you didn’t know you even wanted.

 

They are just looking for a sale. It's a scam.

 

Amazing to me that dealers are STILL able to get people to respond to this garbage. With all the internets and stuff....lol

I just got a letter yesterday as a matter of fact...................we are wanting your 2017, blah, blah, blah. I get them very often. This is nothing new and sorry to disappoint............ but no you or your truck are not something special. No disrespect meant in that statement.

 

I get phone calls from time to time stating "my vehicle warranty is about to expire". Um, which vehicle? We have 3.

 

I would like one of these calls. It's about time for a new ride

It’s just the first time I’d been hit with the buyback offer in a couple years owning it. Just curious if COVID-19 was affecting supply.

Its another way for them to take more money outta ya. I almost did it, the deal was too good but honestly back then i didnt really wanna let go of my vehicle lol

 

Ahhh, the perpetual payment plan where you never see the light at the end of the tunnel.

 

I haven't received a letter in regards to my 3rd Gen but I did get a couple letters a year (for almost 8 years) for my Jeep Liberty from the Jeep dealership that looked like really good deals until you read the fine print on the offer (always read the fine print). I am leaning towards paying my truck off in a few months since new vehicle payments are a drag and don't plan on buying anything new for quite a while. It just depends on how long you want to carry new vehicle debt.
