Alabama Mountain Biking Thread

I just need to get some clear something.

My Specialized logo is across the bottom face of my downtube so I don't want to cover it up with that.

 

Really its just protecting your Bottom Bracket and little bit passed that. But I've got some clear tape that's worked well, its just a super pain in the butt to install with all the curves of the frame. If you want that, go with a precut kit.

 

I was thinking this:

That's what I have. Like a said, major pain to get it to look right. I'm tempted to rip mine off and go without it and just run mastic tape up my frame all the way.

 

put a pack on your back to make yourself even with my weight and see how much you like the uphills..

Lol. I'm getting rid of that bumper in a couple years and building a tube one so I can buy myself a real bike carrier and it not stick out 3 miles. You're right, it is ugly. Haha

 

I just don't want to cover my bike in black tape...I just placed an order on that clear laminx. I'll use a hair dryer and just be patient with it.

That goes both ways. Get in shape and you will like the climbs lol

 

well that's part of the reason I'm MTB'ing....

you skinny kids don't get it lol. I mean lift access parks clearly exist because everyone agrees with you guys that the climbs are fun...

 

Part of the reason you mountain bike is to get in shape; wants to avoid the climbs; would rather only descend.

no. you've misunderstood and twisted my words, as usual.

I've said I don't mind the climbs like the Monte Sano road, and that Patriot would've been worth it on the Arsenal if we didn't climb Chinook.

I don't want torturous climbs, I want decent climbs with worthwhile downhills.

PART of the reason is to get in shape, not ALL of the reason. I ride for fun, not for workout, the workout is just an added part of it.

 

also, if you downhill right, you still get a workout in and get out of breath.

Twisting words. That's a little strong for mountain bike talk, don't ya think? I'm only poking fun.

I'm just saying, don't point out that you ride bikes to get in shape if you try to avoid the part that gets you shape. Just say you ride for fun, which is what you just said.

 

And that's exciting. Riding bikes is so rewarding because of the workout and you don't even know it!
