I’m not seeing any “field testing” on this bumper, specifically with stage 2.

Has anyone taken some hard hits? How did it hold up?

Mine does really well on the speedbumps at the mall. I am kinda sad though because they are making a 1 piece now and I should have just waited. The gap is not the worst thing in the world but when I look at it my OCD is a little triggered.

For the longest time they kept saying they weren't planning on making that anytime soon. Now they are? Or is that just their weld your own kit.

Ordered in September, currently on month 6 waiting for my stage 2 slimline. I followed up with them after getting a shipment notification that said "pending shipment" for 3 whole weeks. Only once I followed up did they let me know they made it wrong and shipping caught it, and they'll have to remake my fucking bumper. Gave me a partial refund, which was appreciated, but I'd say I'm about as frustrated as most others in here with the whole lead time and communication issues.

They posted a video yesterday making it seem like they are starting to make them now or in the very near future.

Right, I saw one on their instagram too. I thought that was their Armageddon Armor kit though, it was at least on their instagram. So a video of a customer who bought the kit and welded it together as one piece.

Hey Buntcake, honestly, I am sorry. I know I apologized over the phone, but I will apologize yet again. To be honest with you, the mistake is 100% on our part and it sucks that it happen and their is no excuse. Essentially we order all bumper faces in a batch with each order that is placed within a certain amount of time. So we only get in the faces of bumpers that customers have placed orders for, and this can get oddly specific. The Tacoma bumper has 3 lighting options, it has 2 options for winch holes (OEM/Universal), then hoop or no hoop. What happen with your order is it was a Tacoma face with a Rigid light in either OEM/Universal (I forget which but I think a OEM). For every 100-150 Tacoma bumpers ordered, I would say we maybe get one or two Rigid Tacoma faces in as they're not all the popular as of late for us. We made your original bumper wrong and it wasn't caught until the end of the process which was (14 weeks admittedly). By the time we noticed, it had been multiple weeks and I got the new face hurry up and ordered because we did not have a duplicate of this face at that time. (This is when I should have contacted you, but honestly it must have slipped my mind/notes) We had to wait for the metal to come in and then fabricate your bumper from there, which took a little time from our metal supplier. With all that said and done, your bumper is at powder coat and I promise you we've done everything we can to get it out as fast as we can but we made a mistake, and you're right I should have called/emailed you and that's on me and for all of this I am sorry. I hope the partial refund helped a little bit but I know nothing makes up for time.

    We sure are!

For the most part any products we make from now on will be made both by Southern Style Offroad and Armageddon Armor. We figure both demographics can benefit from this type of production. The DIY guys will benefit from the 1 week lead time and cheaper price points, and the Southern Style Offroad customers will obviously have less bumper orders to compete with for lead times :rofl:

Also, our lead times are based on a antiquated average of how long it takes orders to go from purchased to out our door. Our lead time was 10-12 weeks on average, but with the Black Friday we saw a 2-3 week addition to the lead time as we saw roughly 7x our normal sales happen within a week. (It was nuts) We're finally finishing up on the Black Friday orders and working back through our normal orders which should decrease the lead times back to 10-12 weeks here in about a week or two tops. As well as, we should also be reducing lead times here shortly because I've hired even more help to help with the Black Friday sale which will be sticking around until we achieve the old lead time of 6-8 weeks.

Anyway, I have rambled enough. Feel free to shoot me a PM or quote me if you have any questions.

Hey Lee, appreciate the response and clarification. I'm sure the group-buy caused some growing pains for y'all with the huge influx of orders right before black Friday orders started coming in too. Like I said, I appreciate the partial refund which goes a long way to show that y'all aren't just making excuses. Excited to hear that it's at powdercoating, and looking forward to testing it out on the trails soon! I'll admit I'm a little jealous of the guys that can order the bumper in one piece now! Thanks again.

Finally got around to the install on my stage 2. Did the drill and tap method on one of the older slimline bumpers. Needed a few shims on the passenger side but think it came together quite nicely. Thanks @SouthernStyleOffRoad

About to get going on my stage 1 and 2 install. Do I remove the aluminum bumper piece that the stage one directions show I should just loosen in order to accommodate the stage 2? Didn’t see any details about this in the stage 2 video but saw he didn’t have his attached any more. If there are directions I am missing feel free to give me some shit haha

Dadgum this Slimline Stage 2 is perfect. Has anyone put one on Army Green yet? And if not, need someone to make sure it fits the new paint color the same as all the other ones? :spending:

Looks great! Any head on shots of your DCLB from the side? This seems likely to be my next setup...

I'm going to get the tube full bumper once they get caught up and some more pictures with it powder coated. I was all set on getting the full plate bumper at first

Anyone got any tips on how to maybe close up or seal off the backside in the wheel well? Might’ve cut a little short but I’m happy either way. 10120182-B011-4CB0-9A10-6B562953233C.jpg 2A12D149-0C60-4DC8-865F-DE160AFB82DA.jpg

They will close it up a great deal. I haven' removed any of my inner fender liner so it will look a little different on yours.
