TACO GARAGE - Dashtop Multi Mount (DMM) CLEAN and SOLID Tacoma accessory mounting

Just picked this up sucks I missed the group buy but they still offered an additional 10% which is awesome can wait to throw this in the rig.

 

Ordered. Glad I found this product because I have a feeling I'm gonna like it.

 

Added Tacoma letter to glove box from their “Bling” category. Looks pretty nice with the DMM.

 

I installed my MESO ECT pro shift knob today and also tucked my charge and AUX cables since I had the dash apart. I ran them through a blank switch cover I notched. I hope to be adding another device so I should be able to run another cable through the notch when I need to.

 

I missed the group buy, but bought it anyway. What a great solution! Thank you! Oh, and the installation was pretty much as described in the video.

 

I’m thinking of doing the same thing but I will likely undo a Walmart’s cigarette USB adapter and directly solder in the 12v input from the battery, shrink wrap that hack job and run 2 USB cables internally in the dash to power the DMM devices. I might even run them from a dash switch just so I can shut them all off at once to satisfy my paranoia of electrical fire. I don’t like having power in the adapter all the time but would like that option when needed.

 

I was thinking of going the hidden route also, but I have enough crammed behind the panel. I figured it would be more convenient that disassembling the dash when I need to work on it. I have the Car Solutions Anytime camera module and the MESO harness in there. Besides the wife wanted to plug her phone in and be able to take her charger cord with her. Matter of fact she took my solar power bank this afternoon to the beach. Hope she doesn't forget to put it back in my truck.

 

@FreshMexicanTaco. What’s the thread size/pitch on the thru screw you supplied for the RAM ball. Can I use this instead.

the DMM uses 10-32 threads for a variety of reasons unfortunately those are not readily available from other manufacturers to my knowledge.

 

Ordered a DMS with slim grip. But is there a hole that I can route my iphone cable through from the USB plug? I have a '20 Tacoma with Apple Carplay.

 

The DSM doesnt have any notches because it only covers one corner of the dash top, you could simply notch the plastic right beside it.

 

Where is there a good place to tap in my USB port , want mount one behind dash

 

I don’t know if Toyota have any stock USB that you can just “tap” into. I’m thinking of buying a cigarette adapter from some reputable company like Anker and do a battery direct connection with a shut off switch.

Would you oppose to provide a revised kit with lighting jack/micro USB access holes for those who wants them? I already bought mine so I don’t need another kit but I think it def is a good idea.

Also. Is there anything in the work for the left side of the dash cluster? It’s getting really crowded in the middle of the dash and I want to move my phone to the left and leave the center real estate for the IPad and the wife’s phone.
