I've had no luck finding a thread but please direct me if there is one. Anyone running these shocks? Trying to see what solutions users have in protecting the passenger side shock. Icon does have a boot for their 2.5 shocks but since the RXT have the offset eyelet mounting location, there's really no spot to attached the boot to around that spot.

These would work for what you are wanting to do. A zip tie around the rod end should hold up decent, it will be something you will need to check periodically.

FYI most shock companies don't offer much protection for that passenger shock, irregardless of what lower rod end is on it.

I was thinking the same thing but wasn't sure about attaching at the end of the rod. When I spoke to Icon "they say" it not recommend because of compression length and stuff. Thanks for the link.

Wheelers says these work for various shocks, could ask them about the Icon.

I believe those will work for any shock that is mounted normally. The RXT shocks have an offset mounting eyelet. Icon has their own for the Raptors which I did ask about but was told it wouldnt work.

I have the stage 9, which is that but minus icons hydro bumpstop. I'm using wheelers superbump with their flipkit.

Was thinking of using a rubber spacer (1 1/2" round, 3/4" thick with shock rod size hole in center and cutting one side to slide onto shock rod, then installing boot over it and secure with zip tie. Thick foam (think foam that goes over 3/4" pipe for insulation) could even work. This would at least help keep dirt/debris out and would be removable for cleaning, etc.

When I rebuild my Icon shocks I just replace the actually shock shafts if they are pitted badly. For large rocks or so that will damage the shafts most soft boots won't do anything at all to protect the shafts. Maybe a hard plastic shield will? I guess you can protect it from dust and mud with just the soft boots? But if it's not perfectly sealed around the shaft mud and dust will get in their anyways.

I have the stage 9 setup as well, RXT pack and hydro bumps. The RXT shock in the rear are awesome, highly recommend

I'm surprised at how well this step up work out in the desert. The rear generally has no issues with bottom outs (although it does tend to "skip" over the woops with such limited travel ). I did re vavle the rear shocks with 0.018" shims on compression.

I am also running the Icon S2 bypass shocks up front in addition to the 2.5" icon coil overs. The coil overs are at 0.018" valving as well and the bypass tube is 1/2 click in. rebound is open all the way. Soaks up a lot of stuff.
