ATX vs KMC XD Which is better quality?

Which is a better quality Wheel between ATX and KMC XD????

 

Made in China, both of them...

 

Just installed a set XD hoss. They have those little fake bolts and while I was removing the wheel to work on the shocks,,,, I ended with one in my hand. Made in China or not ??/ I don't think that, they would last a Tennesse mud.
I guess,,, this is wy I paid only $500 shipped.

 

Where did you get them from? What size?

 

My ATXs are holding up well...loaded the taco to the max many times towing. Balanced well. Still look like new, but haven't seen salt so can't comment on that one.

Both are made in the same plant halfway across the world. Most wheel companies are actually owned by maybe one of 5 or 6 parent conglomerates. As far as quality, there's a set of ATX wheels that has a teflon coating. I would imagine that those in theory would hold up well. Let me know if you have any other questions

 

Check out a company called BMF Wheels, they are made in America. They cost more than either brand listed, but thats the difference in something made on a million dollar CNC machine VS being poured into a mold over in Asia. Only downfall is they don't make a lot of "common" sizes most are 20" plus. But they do have a few sets of 17's. There new matte black wheels are sweet!

 

I would say the ATX, because american racing has been around for a while. If you want a really good wheel look into Walker Evans, only down side is weight.

 

I had some American racing mojaves coated in Teflon. Besides the rock rash suffered from wheeling, they held up well to mud, snow, and lots of dirt and crap.

Yeah, they are quite a bit more. 1 20" BMF costs as much as Virgilus paid for all 4 of his KMC's. I've been looking at a set of their 20"s, but they're just too damn expensive.

 

BMF wheels are expensive, but like I said, thats the tradeoff for an american made wheel crafted on a million dollar cnc machine. There new matte black wheels are less money than the "death metal" black. My only problem with them is, I don't want a 20" or bigger wheel, I want a 17 x 8 or 17 x 8.5, but they mostly catter to guys who want big wheels. My expedition had 24's and that was alright, but my new taco doesn't need anything bigger than a 17" wheel.
