I’ve been gaining like 3-4lbs/month so far but I don’t count calories on my cheat meal and some days I do eat more just because I have been trying to put on mass. But I stay in the 80/20 routine with the on track/snack life.

I didn’t realize that was your height...I was initially thinking there was no way you gain on 3,500kcal but 5’4 and 200 is pretty big.

    Especially at 13%

My first gym visit this month, been slacking because of family and special events.
6.5 miles on the bike and then the weight circuit, I was surprised that I didn’t feel as weak as I was expecting.

I am with ya. I did my first weights workout in a couple of weeks on monday. The week before I did a couple of WODs on tues and thurs because I wasnt feeling well (turns out I had an upper respiratory infection that I was treating symptoms of for around 1.5wks). But Monday was tough, but I pushed myself. It felt good. I hadnt lost all progress as expected. Actually row & OHP stayed the same, squat went down a little but thats okay as I was working on form. It was pretty good. I mean was I where I was, no, but did it feel good to get back in there and not have lost everything? HELL YES!

I will be in the gym again this afternoon getting my sweat on. I always feel good after. Even if it was a tough day, or even if the lift and weight is harder than I want it to be. Its like my hero Elle Woods once said:

I’m goin to the gym today.
    Second time since like January.

Gonna do some elliptical and the bike.

I’m still not super excited to do weights even though I can. I’m nervous about walking around with dumbbells and having to walk around people because I shouldn’t really be pivoting on that knee.
So still gonna wait on lifting till I’m more comfortable.

I’m kinda hoping the Coronavirus panic makes the gym less busy for awhile then I’ll feel better about walking around the weight area. Lol

Thank all the Gods of the world no. Apparently my meniscus decided to up and wander away (it was detaching) so I had to have it secured.

I recommend avoiding knee surgery if at all possible.

Had a meniscus repair and then an ACL replacement on the same knee. It blows. My only advice is take rehab seriously. :)

How long have you been bulking for? a 2 or three week mini-cut may help you rebound a few extra pounds back on if you can get lean enough...

    How was the ACL?

I’ve been through a broken foot repair w hardware, rotator cuff, and then this knee.
    Knee has been the worst.

With my shoulder every doctor was trying to scare me and tell me shoulder surgery is the worst thing in the world.

It was so not that bad.

No one warned me about the knee.

First 3 days were brutal. After that its been minimal pain, its just an epic PITA.
The knee, to me, interferes with my daily life more which to me = sucks more.

Luckily reached my out of pocket max so I’m in therapy regularly and trying to do everything I can to get my motion back.
I’m kind of wondering how long I’m going to be fighting the swelling.

It was no fun and because they took the graft from my hamstring and I tore it subsequently, it's the gift that keeps giving. While the knee is now fine, it is really difficult to get that hamstring to fire. I totally gt what you mean about impeding daily living...beyond that it was just slow going as I waited for mobility and the bone and tendon to heal. When I did get back to the gym i remember struggling to squat a broom handle. It was humbling. And I will never ride a recumbent bike again lol.

Training at an out of town gym this evening.... Holy fuck I miss my gym. Nothing but bros with ILS in tank tops, and people staring at me like I have 3 heads....

The owner sat here for 20 minutes chatting with me asking if I knew "this guy and so and so", cause you know, all large guys know other large guys...
