If your long term goal potentially includes a big bore kit, an 883 would be the way to go. Most insurance jumps when you hit liter bike territory, and an 883 will stay insured as an 883, even if the displacement gets bumped to 1250, 1275, or 90ci. The 883 heads are better for modifying for power than 1200 heads as well.

but its a Harley/cruiser, so insurance should be lower.. My 2019 1200 is $90/year for 25k person/50k accident. I dont know how to setup insurance.. so that might also be a factor. Progressive usually has packages, so I just choose the middle one. I should ask them about full coverage

I believe the red knob is the choke. Is that what you are asking about?

I have been watching some videos and the black knob has the choke symbol. I believe on my bike's carb, both pull out. I was asking what the red one is. Maybe it has something to do with a hot start?

this is the best picture that i have of this

Ah, yes, the black knob is the choke. I couldn't see it when looking on my phone. The red knob is the hot start. I can't see the other thing that you were pointing at -- is it a goldish knob? It may be the idle adjustment screw.

Not positive but it may be the compression release...I used to have an 01 250f and I re-routed my compression release to my bars.

Yep, gas inlet. The fuel line runs from the petcock to that inlet.

Yeah. Its kind of a plain Jane looking bike. I like the red, but the basic gray is killing me. and not a fan of those pipes. But if it works out I could pay cash for it if I needed to. Not really lookin' too add another monthly payment lol.

I've seen this one too. Called them up. I could probably finance it too. Its much nicer looking than the other one. And it has the windshield I like.

There's so much to do with any bike really. I'm pretty new to the harley scene but I know it would only be a matter of Minutes of actually having the bike at home before I start ordering stuff for it lol.
