3.5 hours into my timing belt job on the Tundra (dropped a bolt in the frame so that took some time) and I found out the fan bracket bearing is toast. Should've prepared for this since I knew something was going bad from a slight squeaking at idle. But I didn't want to buy parts I didn't need. So far I don't hate working on the 2UZ.

The valve cover gaskets decided to completely give out and poured oil allover everything. I have those so I'll do that job tomorrow. Lower ball joints are OEM with 198X,XXX on them so I'll be doing them tomorrow as well. Transmission drain and fill, brake fluid flush, and a power steering flush after everything else. A lot of work but this is going to be the truck that gets my brother through the first few years in the Air Force.

When the tech told me my truck passed smog with the illegally sized pulley, modified stock air intake, and oversized fuel injectors, I was about to ask him "Really? What do you mean it passed?"

I fully expected the ATF, FBI, CIA, and the KGB to be at the door when I turned around.

Texas has been more appealing lately.

Well, looks like I’m going to end up canceling my trip to the UK next week. All this COVID-19 stuff is freaking me, and everyone else out. I don’t think it’s worth the risk

There’s even talks about not getting re-patriated if you are held in quarantine in a foreign country. That sounds terrifying to me.

Nice of you to do that Andrew. I'll be doing valve covers on my 2UZ coming up here soon. Mine leaks so bad.
