    Hey gang....I have a 2013 DBLC SB with a shell. What are my options for a tent or awning extension off the back end. I don't want a full top rack tent. something a bit more simple for mobility and $$$. thoughts. Scratch 2077.jpg

    Like @irish_11 mentioned, that's probably the best option if you can't justify the cost of a RTT or it's just not in the budget, like me. The ground is fine for a tent most places I go camping, but I like the idea of using my truck bed instead.

    Been watching this one on eBay for a while now (same as above). $150 plus $10 shipping isn't bad. Might pull the trigger this summer.

    EDIT: Amazon is cheaper ($139.95 shipped free).

    Google "Envoy tent tacoma" By far the best looking and cheapest, if you can find one.

    Yea that was the original thread that I saw, before I bought my rtt I was in the same boat as you. I thought these looked great, but if I remember they stopped making them, but I did see a couple used ones for sale pop up here and there.

    I love the look of the Envoy.....LOVE IT! But I cannot find them for sale anywhere. ANYONE???

    Looks fancy. Almost too fancy. I was really hoping that someone would have found another cheap alternative like the Envoy tent, but doesn't appear to be the case. When you get a chance to try this out, please report back with your experience.

    I feel like that can be made yourself a lot cheaper. Its just something that closes up the back end. Probably can be made with magnets or velcro with waterproof or vented material (I bet without vents it will get stuffy)

    I think that can be said for a lot of things. You're not just paying for the material costs though. There's a skill involved and that's the problem I would run into; I don't have the sewing chops to put something like that together and not have it look like a hobo encampment.

    I just bought one of these tents for $209 and a side awning for $115. I'm waiting for the $160 air mattress to be delivered to set it all up and test it out.
