What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

I followed this one, pretty straight forward. I probably had $150 in it, including the filter and new pan gasket.

The most annoying part was jumping the OBI and sending the Taco into AT temp check mode. In the thread he mentions a YouTube video. Follow the pace, count it out in your head on the shift pauses, at least that finally did the trick for me. There is a trick out there with one of those things you plug into your OBI reader, but I am cheep.

Other than the AT Temp check mode, it's just turning wrenches and pumping fluid. I should have done it sooner.

 

Is the tailgate plate metal ??

 

1/2" plastic. It's not a reinforcement, it's meant to allow the tailgate to act as a cutting board, serving table, etc. (I went to the website and read up on it)

 

Lifted it with my new floor jack. Beats the bottle jack I was making due with. Had to check the torque on the wheel spacers.

 

Wrap it or paint it? Looks good.

 

Is that one of the Harbour Freight models? Seem pretty well built?

 

Yeah, $179. Unfortunately the 20% off coupon they have right now cant be applied, fine print... But pretty happy with it. With my modest lift, the extra height this one had is pretty nice. Haven't check the hydraulic fluid in it yet though. I've heard where these can come low brand new.

 

What DIY shop?

 

I've got one of these. Low profile and 24" lift. Best deal in the market. Use to use it for a Mazda 3 I had AND it'll lift the truck a functional height!

 

I got mine a couple of months ago. Been wanting one so bad lol. My old one which I had for over 30yrs, wouldn't pump up anymore (I'm sure it just needed fluid, but I just needed an excuse to get me the HF one lol). It's a great jack and I'm sure I'll get 30yrs years out of this one too.

 

I finally got a chance to install my @CaliRaisedLed Ditch Lights w/ their Low Profile Brackets.




Then did some trail riding a couple days later, but the new lights didn't help me any lol. Just not enough skinny pedal

 

Truck buddies? I think you replied to my thread about a toolbox offering your slim for $100 but not sure. Either way, nice truck!

 

So worth it! Important to grab the in channels though. This and the bug shield were the first things I purchased when I got my truck

Too bad they only have those in the big cities.

 

Rago makes a low profile light mount that goes on the low pro bracket. Seems to come out tilted, but you cant tell when you take a few steps back
