4 gears up in MT, scuffed knuckles if we had those front holders...the first one of the two we have behind shifter is useless for anything with a straw...

A dozen in the MT...just went and counted :rasta:

Edit, DCSB config... @tonered what say AC

Edit, Edit... the St. G has none of these issues lol

    Canada Eh!
The autos have one extra cup holder. They’ve only got one behind the shifter, plus a useless square.

Looks very nice, I just placed an order for an AT version also. Just curious what Boot/knob transition are you using? Looks like another collar between the boot and the knob.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong but it's the V1 version. It came with a cover/bezel to go over the stock chrome collar, everything snaps and clicks. Such a joy to install.

On the side note: When I maxed out screwing the new knob on, It misaligned with the boot seam by about +10 degree. I put a piece of plastic into the knob hole (for shimming) so I can tighten all the way while it aligns the boot seam. Small detail but I'm extremely OCD about shit like that.

Couldn't stop looking at it while I'm driving. :yay:

Tried ask Richard to make me a custom golf ball dimple like my MK5 GTI but he said he already has enough designs:angrygirl::D

    Yep, it's a V1.

You can see the same knob without that extra black pc on the picture in the OP. Lower left in the pic cluster is how the V1 looks normally, @xola3que has @MESO chrome delete cover installed.

To the right of the aforementioned picture in the OP is the V2, which is what you ordered @texbaz .

Sure I understand, just thought that might be another variation of the boot/knob interface. It took me 2 days to sift threw this thread,so much info to take in. I understand how the V2 version I ordered installs, can't wait.

Very nice easy install. Everything needed was provided. Knob, transition collar, shims, tie wraps, spare set screw, even what looked to be a small dab of anti-seize on the knobs internal threads and instructions on page 1. looks great. highly recommend. Mine was easy no graphics so knob orientation was not needed, just good ole German torque. (gutNtite) CBK1a-1.jpg CBK2a-1.jpg CBK3a-1.jpg

Not sure about wood, but I’ve had a stainless steel one for about 10 months. So far so good

The metal components won't really age at all. Depending on the material the surface finish may flatten a bit. Aluminum and brass would be worse than SS or Ti.

The Delrin may get some shinyness if you go that route.

Wood would definitely require periodic maintenance to stay looking good. I would request set screws to retain the ring instead of pins so you can take it off and apply wax/oil once a year or so. You would want to keep a finish of some kind on the inside and out to prevent problems with humidity.

here's a new little custom from Rick. 4" Titanium stem and delrin ball, 1.75"dia (golf ball is 1.69"). just got the leather and enamel in the engraving done, a bit of polish, and next day the truck went to the shop for a big teardown, replacing the whole clutch, pedal, and hydraulics with all new metal parts. love the timing. the cherry on top came first.

plan to finish up the Hurst shift arm with a nicer finish soon, that rough leather wrap was just a shortcut to cover the chrome arm.

i cannot thank Rick enough for his efforts on all levels. super enjoyable project and top work.
