I think it looks cool with the rust, reminds me of an ooold shotgun I use to hunt with.
Slightest water on it and the blueing would get rust lol

Installed the the thermal breaker for my winch, it's rated to trip at 400A in over 10-20 mins constant use, much longer at 250A.
    Instantaneous for a dead short.
Plus you can use it as a disconnect.
I have to get a proper boot for the one side, but just covered it in electrical tape for now.
I'll be making a mounting plate out of fiberboard that goes from the battery hold down to under the breaker then over to the rad support area.
I'll also be mounting the relay box to this same hypothetical plate.
Ordered the 27 battery tray so I'll get measurements once the new battery is installed...
(the relay that I currently just have held onto the rad support with a piece on #12 wire like a zip tie :anonymous:)

wound out the winch half way and wound it back up for it's monthly maintenance. no heat anywhere... but that is really no load on it yet....

Setup is a little safer now. :)

I wonder if they were asleep in the RTT when that happened...

I don't see shit stains up the side of the tent, so probably not...

Looks like the majority of their mods are going to be salvageable. Might even save the radios in the cab.

Yeah chop off the rear driveshaft, peel up the roof and drive 'er out.... for the ultimate in youtube views... :itllbuffout:

i'll drive by later and we can hook up your winch to my truck as you pull it up a snowbank by Limeridge mall.

We can recreate the great jeep-pulling-Eugen-up-rocks calendar piece!

No mud flaps, and a cool sticker.

The bluing is just for looks. If anything it is worse for protection as its starts an oxidation process. I love how it looks but it needs to have something over top to protect the metal/seal it to stop its reaction. I wonder if it would work well with a clear powdercoat, i'll ask my guy next time I'm out there.

I'm not great with the painting process, and nothing we paint really gets abused (i doubt the fireplace surround i made will be doing much off roading) so sadly i wont be much use for tips on painting. For my own stuff i always powdercoat, because my guy is cheap, good, and i suck at painting.

I started, a couple months ago, along with a friend, the Bancroft Overland Club. The club is already affiliated with OF4WD. And we do have a number of events planned for this year. I'm sure we could put together a nice run together for the long weekend. The club has a Facebook page and website at Bancroftoverlandclub.ca . I'll post the events here as well.

This. All the blued Chicom rifles are packed in cosmoline to survive the trip over the ocean.

I'd like to know what coating Toyota uses on the black spare steelie, because it appears to be very corrosion resistant. Any insight @Sloweburn?
