Bp-51 old man emu heavy duty kit with total chaos UCAs

should give me some added weight capacity- higher ride height and a bit more articulation? Riding on 265/75/16 on stock sr5 rims.

    thanks in advance

If you are going to spend that much there are better options out there with more travel. I would research more

BP 51's are an expensive option considering you're leaving out other components. I would do rear U-bolt flipkit brackets with new rear bump stops and also new front bump stops. Might want to look into the ECGS bushing as well. How much are you looking to gain in lift?

Okay, about these components you mentioned, you think I should get these with the BP-51 kit? Not looking to gain a lot in height 2-3 inches is fine. I’m looking more for better weight handling and a smoother off-road ride. One of the reasons the bp-51s are attractive is there resistance to rust and added weight handling improvements. If I’m going to put money into my trucks suspension I don’t want to have to do my suspension again so top of the line is a huge goal.

If top of the line is your goal I would do the U-bolt flip kit bracket with new bump stops. I'd also do the front bump stops. I'd also get the ECGS bushing done https://eastcoastgearsupply.com/i-8536125-toyota-8-clamshell-bushing-eliminates-needle-bearing.html.
I'd also only lift it 2". You shouldn't need UCAs for a 2 inch setup and it should align fine with 265's but you are looking for top of the line, so I'd do SPC UCA's also.

Thanks! Stock suspension isn’t cutting it. Know anyone with a similar setup? I sure would like to see what it looks like..just curious does the u bolt flip kit give it more durability? Is the ECGS bushing to prevent rattling after the lift? (Obviously) but I hear some people get rattling and some don’t. Is there a reason why?

I don't personally know anyone who runs the BP-51. But, I actually did see it yesterday in person on a 3rd gen Tacoma that had a shit ton of added weight on it. Looked to be at 2-3 inches but I cant tell you any more than that as the owner wasnt around. I'd go to Instagram and search for #bp51 and you're bound to find some Tacomas in the results.

The main purpose of a bump stop is to serve as some final suspension cushion to keep the metal parts from coming together or from traveling too far, which might in some way damage the suspension or chassis. You're changinging the travel of your suspension, so you want to accommodate for that. You said you wanted "top of the line" and there is no top of the line suspension with OE bump stops.

ECGS prevents/cures, in most cases the vibes. I'd research more on it if I were you as it's common even for some non lifted Tacomas.

Um, Clearance. Having the bracket on top so the bolts and nuts hanging down don't get scraped by rocks.

Seriously though, it is not pointless. I prefer not to have that hanging piece of shit dangling off both sides of my axle. It's easy to see the benefit.

I run the BP-51 on my '16 4Runner and the 2.5" Kings with Medium Dakars on my '20 Tacoma. BP-51 is nice, but the Kings are way nicer. The ride, the offroad handling, etc. All aspects are better with the Kings. For a similar cost, I would do Kings or ADS or Fox over the BP-51, I've been a LONG time fan and user of OME suspensions. I also run SPC UCAs on both vehicles.

You're going to want/need the ECGS bushing especially if lifting the truck. Not only does the bushing cure/prevent some vibes but it replaces the needle bearing. Which is almost a known fact to break after a lift. Just a matter of when.

I have BP-51's and a shit ton of weight, they get the job done. I'm still waiting to come down hard and bend a shaft. If I were to do it again, I'd be going Kings.

Not sure what you mean by that. Weight capacity is relative to the springs (you could still do the Dakar HD springs in the rear, and you have lots of options for heavier springs with the big names) and the valving in the shocks. Again you can find tons of shops that can re-valve any of the big names and you can even get them valved custom from the get go if you go through a shop like Accutune. However, I bet if you got a 650-700 spring on any of them with factory valving and you’d be in great shape.

This is another thing to look at, checkout the size of the shafts between the BP-51 and the others (I’ll see if I can get a pic this afternoon for comparison).
