You go ahead and be afraid of spacers. When professionals stop trusting them, THEN we will have a discussion. Until then you have zero ground to stand on.

I will agree with you. The problem is that 98% of people that say they’re bad, use the reasoning “it’s bad on your drivetrain components” yet have a wheel that is offset more than stock.

Only in appearance, otherwise they have absolutely nothing in common. $30,000 + on a nice Tacoma and using spacers like a 95 Civic owner? C’mon, you deserve better.

Tell that to the guys with 100k crawlers running spacers.
This argument is such shit. It’s like saying “30k Tacoma and buying $20 vinyl to cover the chrome trim on your interior like a 95 civic owner. Cmon man do better” lol

These wheels popped up on my radar a month or so ago. Now that I see them on your truck I just need to decide on 16” vs 17”. They look fantastic!

Come local Facebook marketplace. You’d be surprised what I’ve found for my 3rd Gen for fairly cheap

Just curious why would a 100k crawler need spacers? track width and wheel clearance is a non issue on one.

I wonder how many guys he thinks at King of the Hammers are running spacers, I’m going with zero.

In the end, it comes down to quality... eBay spacers don’t have the same tensile strength as a good set

At the end of the day, its opinion vs. opinion. I have as much ground to stand on as you big dog.

Want me to create a kickstarter campaign for you to get some nice wheels?

Put me down for $5 if it helps our Brother get some decent wheels that have the look he wants. I'm not Hatin', I want everyone to like their Taco and I realize some just have to have that Poke. No need for all those strong words people are using, it's all good.

Some of the other Toyota (FJ, 4Runner) wheels look good on the Taco. I picked up a set of 5 for $200 a few months back. These are also 17" instead of the stock 16". I can't comment about wheel spacing and cool is subjective, but I like the look of these. (They are not mounted just mocked up in the photo)

Easy there. They are not the same. Aside from adding the extra connection which is another point of failure, they are also fundamentally different in where the weight is placed. Spacers push the bolt face out and inch further vs wheels with the proper offset do so by changing the position of where the rim (see old man where terminology becomes important?:)) attaches to the disk. Think of it like this. What would be easier to hold? 5lbs close to your body or extend your arms and try to hold that same 5lbs with your arms extended.

Depending on where you live, you could hold out for a used set. I wanted a duplicate set of factory rims and waited months to find a good deal, but ended up getting another set of OR wheels for $50 each. In the process, I saw all kinds of aftermarket wheels for sale. The majority of the time they were overpriced, but they were often priced below $500.

I’d be surprised if you could pass Tech Inspection at any race with wheel spacers, especially the ones that double the number of lugs and require wheel removal to check the first set. To be fair, there was one Porsche that offered spacers but they were thin and didn’t have an extra set of lug nuts you can’t check instantly.

If spacers cost the same as proper wheels nobody would buy them and no one would make excuses for them,
