Excellent! That is one of the main things that drew me to it. I appreciate the response.

I've been looking around for a used cap to put my RTT on for a while now, and I've got lead on a color matched one on CL. Only catch is that it doesn't have the roof tracks installed. I know I'm taking the chance by installing them myself (or will probably have the Leer dealer install them), but the cap is over $1000 cheaper than new. Has anyone installed the tracks and put a tent on there, only to regret it because of leaks or some other reason?

@Subway4X4 has a link for "replacement" tracks that are much cheaper than the kit that they come in new

Ok that’s good to know. I’d want to do the install myself because the dealer wants $400 to install their tracks. I’m having second thoughts about it now though because it has these Rhino racks installed too. So I’d have to fill and seal those holes, then seal the new holes for the tracks. That seems like a lot of holes and opportunities for water to get in.

3/4in hole for an NMO antenna mount is pretty gnarly too. At least you can replace a fender if you botch a snorkel install

It had a Rhino rack which is only rated to ~135 pounds which I realize is the dynamic weight but still too close for comfort for my RTT.

@Saguarobandit nice flexibility. Didn’t think a t@g would work. Opens future doors for me.

New here just got a Tacoma short bed and looking for a tent to take the family out away from home!
I’m in between the front runner outfitters and overland nomadic maybe even considering the vagabond as well. It will be my wife and 10 year old daughter and soon my son to be born in June.
My plan is to let them sleep in the tent and I can sleep in a pop up tent with my 20 pound dog. If I do this probably the nomadic and vagabond are better options since I can add the Anex and sleep in there
The front runner is lighter but it doesn’t have an extension, is possible to add an Anex but it will be smaller, has no floor and the ladder and opening is on the outside

Front runner is also local about 20 minutes from home

overland brand is about 2 hours and Roam is out of state so would have to look for a dealer that has them in stock or Would need to pay $150 for shipping

Rough estimates on price difference is
    Front runner $1300 With Anex

overland nomadic 2 $1600 with Anex

    Roam vagabond $1800 with Anex

    that’s a nice tent
Is their entry level one without the extension
Is on their website for $899

with out the extension I think I still prefer the front runner outfitters one
And is about 20 lbs lighter

but the ones with extension and ability to add an Anex is great
I can sleep there with the dog and put a heater on a table and would keep the tent and Anex room warm

Those look MUCH better than the buckle ones my CVT came with. Where did you pick those up?

They are pretty heavy duty. Probably overkill for this application here, but it seems to work great. Geno 17TRD is the member that originally shared these.
