We had a struggle with buying the Taco because we had not planned on needing a car. My two bikes were just not reliable. Too many major failures were going on. The fam was happy that I was getting four wheels again since they never really fell in love with the sidecar bike. The only problem was that the MT was a must have and used Tacos were just too expensive.

If you like to jam out, don't get the JBL upgrade if you can avoid it. You can build a MUCH better system for the cost of Toyota JBL system.

I scored the only Inferno MT DCSB within at least two states (WA and OR). They had a number of access cab TRD Sports nearby when I was shopping. I tested a Super White one and loved it but I needed a double cab. Mine's got Tech + Premium. Wasn't necessarily looking for those things but this one was loaded and I was able to get a really good deal so hey. I love them though. Heated seats on low even in the summer makes a world of difference for comfort. Dual zone is nice if only for the auto function. Even with passengers I hardly use the dual feature and I could honestly live without it.

If you go with red, I'd recommend either getting it ceramic coated or just really staying on top of waxing it. That's what causes paint fade, is people not maintaining their finish. Pretty sure Super White is still a single-stage paint job, and historically I've seen more Toyotas and vehicles in general with that just coming off in chunks. I'd take the red one.

I have a 19 Sport AC Mantran 4x4 - No packages. I just ordered it and received it 2-3 months later. I then added heated seats myself. Paid 32k plus tax, title - 2020's are a little more now though.

Yep. Noted in my original reply. If they want an MT SB, they can only get it in a Sport. Weird marketing decisions. There is one other oddity for their market that is slipping my mind.

There are a few differences that wouldn't make one hard to import here, but a reason why there are CA specific models. The windshield washer reservoir has a low level sensor, the DRLs are permanently on, and I believe they all come with block heaters? I could be wrong about that last one.

Like I said, check the options. Some Toyota models with SW offer a two stage option for clear coat.

Yeah, like most of the 1st and 2nd gen locker Tacos you see are AC. Weird. Also, a few months back I found myself asking why the hell did I run my washer tank dry with no warning on a 35K truck. Installing the sensor would be easy and cheap. Toyota be like that sometimes I guess..

I appreciate the sensors on cars where the tanks are hidden in the bumpers, but with the Taco, the whole tank is visible. So for me, I don't mind it. I check stuff every 2k or so and don't seem to be lower than half. I do add Rain-X booster in the tank and use it pretty often to keep the rain moving off.

The one that makes me a bit crazy is that when using the starter, the head unit power is cut but the window power isn't. I would much rather have that reversed, esp as sometimes, my phone doesn't reconnect smoothly.

Great taste. Barcelona red MT access cabs were in VERY short supply when I bought my 2018. EA2D6F2D-884D-4F80-9B28-FAA01900DA17.jpg

So topping the thread with a question regarding color.

I've been holding out for an MT AC in Vodoo Blue. To date Car Guru's has shown a total of 3 available nationally, and as of today there is only one. Given that I'm also looking to score LED lights, the one available does not fit the bill. I pulled up Toyota to build a truck, and Voodoo Blue was not showing as an available option. Anyone know if that means no more this model run, or potentially a temporary situation?

If VB is not an option, not sure which color I pivot to. Red looks great, and would be an awesome homage to my 84 Toyota Truck I bought in college. Cement is a possibility. Tons of Mag Grey available, but not what I really want as I'm thinking that's going to be tough to keep clean.

Hope all are well during current times. Should be interesting to see how deals progress as we move forward.

Try changing the zip code on Toyota's website. Sometimes only certain combos are available in certain areas. In September 19 I walked into my local Toyota dealer and told them I wanted a Sport AC MT in Quicksand with LED lights and a few other options. Less than a month later I picked up my truck. So going to a local dealer you can tolerate and telling them what you want is always an option I think. This was also before the world was ending and trucks were being built regularly.. Good luck with the search. I considered Voodoo Blue and Cement but ultimately wanted Quicksand bad enough.

Good advice, didn't think of that. Funny how the allocations are as there are no MT AC within 100 miles, and then only three within 150 miles. However there are something like 35 in the general Wash DC/No. Va area. Must be a big seller in that area.
