I searched high and low looking for an answer to this and I finally found it so I thought I would share!!!

Problem: When locking, unlocking the horn would sound. If I wanted to unlock all of the doors I would press the unlock button on the key chain twice and would here "BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP" super loud.

I tried all sorts of things I dound online and this was the answer!!!!

Answer: Turn the key over to turn the accessories on for 5 seconds and then turn it back one click and look down by the parking brake. To the left of it there was a little red button on wall by the floor. Press is three times. You will hear the horn sound in recognition and then VOILA!!!

Hope this helps someone. I also heard about people wanting to turn the horn on so this might help them as well!

Good find. I'm assuming this toggles the horn on/off depending on which mode you're already in. Gonna try it for sure when I get home because I'm tired of the horn sounding in my quiet neighborhood at night when I need to get in my truck.

It's the dealer installed "Karr" alarm that makes your horn honk. That's what the button is down by your parking brake.

I do this horn on/off thing all the time depending on the mood I'm in. Just for some clarification you have to "cycle" the on/off red button three times. One cycle is two presses. To cycle three times you need to press the little red button six times within 10 seconds after turning the key off. If done properly you'll get a single or double horn honk indicating that it was successful.

My "chirped" .... stayed with it for about 3 days .... "de-chirped" it by removing the "chirper".

The horn was really annoying late at night or early in the morning when all else was tranquil. Or when you locked it (beep beep), realized you forgot something and unlocked it (beep beep beep beep) and then locked it again (beep beep).

people that leave the horn beep on drive me nuts; I'm sorry but this is a major pet peeve of mine. Please have some consideration for the rest of society and turn it off, it's in the owner's manual. Anytime I stay at a motel there's always 10 dumbasses making 10 trips each to the car at 6am with a horn beep every minute.

I tried having consideration for neighbors...However that went out the window when one asshole let his car alarm go off for 3 hours even though he was home and ignored me knocking on his door.

Thank you for posting this! Just bought a 2011 Tacoma with the karr alarm. I was annoyed enough about having to pay extra for the privilege of not having them disable something that was already installed, but the asinine horn beeps everytime you lock/unlock (on top of a less annoying but still unecessary electronic chirp) was just rubbing salt into the wound. Thank you!

Anyone know a way to kill the chirp too?

I have an 09 DCLB TRD Sport and it just started making the horn noises when I lock and unlock. I tried the OP's original solution, but there is no red button by the parking brake. Please help!
