I will need an amp adapter. Still have stock head unit.

I hit Amazon, and this came up. https://smile.amazon.com/Amplifier-Interface-Vehicles-Subwoofer-Vehicles/dp/B00CQUL240/

It says it will work on 2016 Tacoma, but a commenter says he just dropped it into his 2018, no problem. Think it will work on my 2019?

I'm thinking it should be the same. They also have amp adapters that you wire up yourself, which I did actually. I got mines at walmart. Scoche brand I think. Same same. I would just try it and see. If not returns are easy enough (Amazon).

Folks, I noticed that there are some seat risers for sale in the classifieds section. Seems that one could choose between rear or front risers? Anyone installed risers to put a sub under the passenger seat, and can sound off? do I need front and rear risers? or just one?

    Thanks!

I see you put this under the drivers seat on a second gen. that's my plan as well. Did you put risers on the seat? Did you anchor the unit, or just let it sit. Seems REALLY cramped under there. I've got an AC cab, not a DC, but I'm assuming the pan geometry is similar under the drivers seat.

So, I do have the spacers under the back two feet of the seat which was done for seating comfort and not specifically for the Sound Ordinance. However, I have read elsewhere that other's have placed it under their seat. I do agree it's a little tight, but it should fit. The best way is to find the height of the unit and measure under your seat to make sure. If you can't find the height of the Sound Ordinance, I can take a measurement when I get home.
I'm guessing that the dimensions of the seats and space beneath would be the same across the double and access cabs.
I did not anchor the unit and I did not have any issues with it moving or sliding around. I have vinyl floor coverings too, not carpet.

    Thanks @Musubi3

Crutchfield gives the dims, but real world is good to hear as well. I'm actually going to lift the front of the seat a bit which will help.

Enough bottom end, huh? I'm skeptical, but this little thing has LOTS of solid reviews, and let's face it, AC is not a lot of space to fill.

How would you rate the abuse you give the unit? I lean rock/funk/reggae, hoping for nice kick drums and bass grooves. And where'd you put the attenuator knob?

just a few questions. Lol sorry. I'm psyched to finally replace the sound in this truck. Can't believe how bad the original system sucks.

I think for what the unit is and it's price, I think it's very good. Hence the good reviews. So here a a few things I'll note, and I'll do the best I can not being an audiophile. The bass doesn't pound real hard, but nice and tight. Much better than anything stock, that's for sure. IF you plan to place it under the Driver's seat, just be aware it will vibrate your ass through the seat. If you don't mind feeling it, then that's fine. Otherwise, maybe try the passenger seat. If you're looking for a decent increase in bass, then this should suffice. After about half a year of using it, I replaced it with a JL Audio 10" TW3 in a custom built enclosure I did that fit behind the rear seat. I changed over to this because I was seeking the low bass frequency that the SO just couldn't put out. Plus I just wanted MORE, haha. I love it tons.

I can't say I've ever pushed the SO to the point of distortion, but I would try to give it some juice every now and then. It would shake the rear view mirror though(along with my butt).
The bass knob was never really mounted anywhere permanent, but I just ran it up between the seat and the center console, near the seat buckle.

The thing I liked about the SO was that it took up space under my seat that I wasn't using, compared to my current setup taking up the storage behind my rear seat. I think for what the SO is, it's a good unit and for people not seeking window shaking bass, it will work.

I'll see if I can get a height measurement in a few hours.

The height came in at 3-3/16" at it's tallest point, where the grille's at.

So I have a 2011 DC Sport and I am about to buy the Sound Ordinance B-8PTD, and I wanted to confirm that you guys were able to fit it underneath the driver seat with no risers is that correct?

I was not able to fit it, and I have the front risers (only) on my truck. I have an AC, and its sitting in the rear footwell behind the drivers seat. I have a piece of indoor/outdoor carpet over it just to keep dust/dog hair/whatever from getting all over it. Sounds great for it's size and simplicity, but I'm bummed it didn't go under the seat.

Oh darn that’s a bummer, yea I see there is an A/C vent under my seat too, I wonder if I removed that if I could make room for the sub.... has anyone had it fit by making any mods? I would really like to fit it under there!

Right! the A/C vent is there and that's an issue. What I meant by AC is Access Cab. I don't know if the floor pan of the truck is shaped differently than the Double Cab, but it may be. Either way, it wouldn't fit.
