That's why they use the auto tranny tcase they are RWD and 4wd. The Mt was AWD and yes, I had seen someone do a write up on one somewhere in tw actually....if you search 3rd gen Tacoma manual tcase swap,it should pop up...he had pictures and all that jazz. I know he had to slightly modify the length of the.... input shaft of the tcase? I'm a little fuzzy on details.

That's @Jowett, I believe. He's also trying out the non-US market MT with much better ratios.

That would be an interesting read, these could stand to use a better set of ratios

Actuators start to get expensive I'd imagine....but anyway I'll quit shooting this thread in the foot...ADD gets rolling and away I go haha. On topic...the more I drive with this 2.0 tune...the more I just want to road trip this bad boy and not have to get out of the drivers seat

Definitely. Also @7r41lbr34k3r , @KTJO 4x4 , @05Taco4x4 , @BigWhiteTRD , and a few others. Just a ton of knowledge. Not to mention the person that put together the 3rd Gen Service Manual. I can't remember his username.

Definitely screen shot that haha, I'm always fiddling with something on this truck. So back to tune relations...is your first gear insanely aggressive? I had to make some moves on the way home pulling out onto a main road and that's the first time I've heard one of these 33's squeal.

Don't look at @05Taco4x4 's bits. Fair warning!

I have to say no? I mean, I was surprised by 1st going to the upper reaches under part throttle on the first day. I am not feeling the great divide between 2.0 Base and SFOB as I did on 1.05. To me, 04B13 SFOB Prem on 87 has a bit more torque off idle and ramps steeper than Base, but to me, not as much as folks are saying. SFOB is the shit, but I don't feel it is overly aggressive though.

After about three tanks of 87, I do plan on a final test of 92.

It would be interesting to try someone elses Taco. OPP, you know me!

First has been super aggressive since the tune
Has been settling, and I'm not complaining...just seeing what others are feeling out there. Now I am on the old ECU id. The A470, not sure if that has anything at all to do with it. My buddy has a 19 and has a tune but has been dragging his feet so badly, he hasn't even sent for a regkey yet....annoying lol.

I get that it isn't a complaint, just a flavor.

I might change my opinion once 92 is in there?

04A70 shouldn't factor in that much and I know similar comments have come from 04B13, 04A71, and 04B41 folks.

I'm using the SFOB premium just because I wanted to see how it acted compared to the base, after one more tank of premium I want to try the SFOB regular again and see if first gear is still acting super snappy. I don't plan on leaving the SFOB files though most likely, I'm enjoying the full Otto to much and have noticed no mpg drop.

    Canada Eh!
I’ve found 4th to the quietest, because it is direct 1:1. 5th makes noticeably more noise. Naturally noise increases with more load. Coasting is relatively quiet.
