Keep it if you like it. If you sell her you’ll regret it every time you see one like it

Now that I have the shock boots for the Icons for my rear that's what I'm planning to do. Install that whole pile of goodies and then beat the shit out of it all to see how awesome/better it is. Now I just need to find a local SF Bay Area Mod day and get the old OME shocks to @Kwikvette if he still wants to check them out.

I was invited but it's on a Saturday; don't have weekends off.

but the area surrounding the drain hole looks completely void of any paint or rust, its sorta where those paint peelings came from

i was thinking there would be more but just the internal paint is rusting on the top  from humidity?!!?
my battery ran low and could only get one pic so far in the key spots of internal rot

i just need to stay on top of the ball and whip it out this spring/summer

oh yes, i have 5 rattle cans of that internal frame coating to spray once everything inside is thoroughly cleaned of loose paint and sand, dirt
but not i have an issue if that stuff will stick to a minimal rusty surface or not?!?

If you're pulling chunks of rust out of your box frame with a tiny magnet I would not call it "minimal rust".
The 90s Tacoma box frames did not get painted INSIDE when Dana built them or by Dealerships after purchase.
Your Tacoma is among the buy back and crush 1st gens. Have you considered buying a new frame?
You might squease a couple more years out by Internal coating but the end has past and you're on borrowed time.

    look at my pic
that black stuff on the outer edge is paint coating, i think?

pulling chunks of paint chips with specs of rust on them or so i think is what i am doing

If I wasn't dealing with my dear old dad post surgery, post stroke, post rehab facility, post taking him out of said rehab facility before he was ready because the CDC recommended locking places like that down for two weeks with no family allowed in and dealing with home health care yadda ad nauseaum yadda I would happily do the 3 hour round trip to Hughson. Sadly I will just keep being patient and wait for a closer mod day or until my dad can go to the restroom without my hands on help.
