I mean are we expecting taps to turn off? Yeesh.

to be fair I did learn today covid gives you trouble breathing, shortness of breath, and dry cough. And fever. No runny nose, no itchy eyes, etc. so now I guess I’ll know when I get allergies cause the corona this year

I thought it had more symptoms. Ah well. At this rate I kind of just want to get it and get it over with.

At least speaking for the Rav4 ,they fit perfect. I knew on my truck I'd have to get universals and do a little measuring because nobody makes a bolt up for mine

I'd start trying to negotiate with Toyota versus them replacing the frame. Not sure if that's even something they're doing on this run..I plan to ask about that on mine if/when that time comes in about 18 months, seeing as at that point mine will clearly not be worth what the list price of the frame is.

If that's not possible have em swap the frame and then sell it yourself when you feel the time is right.

I did my second one a few years ago and even with taking on PMI back then it was still worth it, we just got even more aggressive on paying the prinicipal. Plus shedding the PMI and my truck payment at the same time was nice, we just let it ride for a bit before popping for Linda's Rav4 last year

Not so far but better prepared than not I suppose. I'm not a doomsday prepper type but we just got enough food, water and meds for a few weeks.

Remember your furry friends as well..one of my cats is on 3 pills a day plus a prescription diet so I had to hit the local vet up the other day.

Hey has anyone installed a wood stove inside of a fireplace? We have a 1200 sq ft house and a corner chimney in the living room. I’m thinking about dropping in a wood stove and chimney insert if that’s a thing. Hopefully with a glass front I’d still like to be able to see it. We use the fireplace but I feel like (know) a lot of the actual heat just goes up and out. It wouldn’t be primary source of heat, but I could be convinced to run it as much as possible too.

Not a wood, but my mom just did this this year with a fireplace in our house and a gas stove. She loves it and said its a huge improvement. They actually did it to another one too and I used it over Presidents weekend, put out some good heat.

I heard that a lot of people can have it and not even know because its so mild. I think this is really just something that hurts people that are 80+ or have a preexisting issue, you know, the people that are susceptible every day of the year to almost any virus...

I have a wood burning insert in my basement. It throws off a ton of heat. Wood is rather messy though, so keep that in mind. I had pipes and vents to the upstairs (ranch house) and that thing did a great job of supplemental heat. It easily could have heated as primary if it was in the living area. We’ve since installed a propane (vented) fireplace insert upstairs as my back wasn’t digging the splitting of wood anymore. That rendered the wood stove to be my shop heater in the basement when I’m down there puttering on the weekend. Got mine off CL for a good price. Make sure it has, or you get, a blower for it.

A lot of the newer inserts are very efficient, have good-sized door glass, and would still give you that fireplace 'ambiance' while fitting flush (or mostly flush, depending on the size of your fireplace) with the existing opening. Personally, I'd prefer a wood insert, but I know a lot of people appreciate the convenience of gas.

Yep, I did a gas fireplace insert at the house in Boothbay. It's a huge improvement over the wood. And it blows plenty of heat.

My goal is basically using the free firewood for heat :D and enjoying the fire.

I'll have to get a picture of my fireplace. It's a corner fireplace. similar to this one
    https://www.ortalheat.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/07/Ortal-130-LS-Fireplace.jpg

So I'd have to look at the inserts/wood stoves for that. It's funky. But good to know. Don't want to do gas as of yet. We have NG piped to the house, I'd like to have full heat to the house should power go out for a week, for example. I like splitting wood as an exercise technique for now at least :p Right now we just have an open fireplace. I enjoy it, but all the heat is lost.

Yeah, I've read mostly it's the same deal as the flu for who it affects the most. But, it has also killed a few mid-age healthy ("healthy", no way of knowing I guess if they were super asthmatic, or 500lbs overweight, etc) - but then, so does the regular flu.

Some people also have pre-existing medical conditions that are undiagnosed that can complicate things. Happened to a kid I went to high school with back in 2012

4.5% Mortality rate is actually quite alarming, but it's said that rate will go down as more of the population contracts it.

Yeah for sure. Sounds like the majority of cases for this aren't that bad. It's good to see people are taking it seriously, but realistically I think we should meet somewhere in the middle, be careful with the flu season and tone down how much this is.

the high mortality sounds more like under-reported recoveries too, or under-reported positive cases. There's a lot of people who can't/don't get tested, or might not even know they have it so that's not being reported. But when someone wakes up dead, they'll check for it.

Eesh. That is a weird shape. I'm sure somebody makes one, but your options are probably fairly limited.
