@nudavinci64 , get a blow gun on that engine before you open it up anymore. Oh yeah, and figure out your plan for the stand alone fuse panel since that location will soon need to be occupied by the reservoir. You could probably just reverse and put it on the passenger side. Enjoy!,

I aim to please hahah yah I am excited. The S/C along with the box of mods I have piled up will be an undertaking for sure.

They are the standard race LCAs w/ double bypass. I was knee deep in a mid travel build so I went all in. I prob would have done the +2LT kit if I had known myself better that it would end up this way. Overall though they are built like tanks. A bit less turning radius. Of course they came up with the expedition series a month later which gives you better turning but has not been a big issue.

Yah I will be doing plenty of cleaning/air before I crack it open. Since I have a ton of wiring and such I did not give it a once over.

that wiring stuff has been on my mind already and do need to think of what I am going to do. There is a switch pro, fuse panel, solar controller, and a. couple other things over there right now which def uses the space needed for the reservoir.

I need to pull it out and rewire a few things anyway so gives me a chance to plan it out again. I was thinking of a dual battery setup so I may move all the stuff over to the passenger side. That is going to be a pain but could be worse.ik

I need to get a game plan once I have the main items together and decide if I am going to go OEM 3.0 or add the quwik change and toss on the 2.8 or 2.5. That will depend how antsy I get and if I can get to some of the more items I am less comfortable with (valve body, fuel rails and fuel pump)

It may be easier just putting your reservoir on the passenger side. It is just plumbing and not 28 different 18-22 gauge connections.

With the hose that goes down to the front radiator do you think that would work? I was thinking how I could mount it differently. If I could avoid ripping all that shit out it would save some time. I do plan on re working some of it but def will add more time and don't want to rush it again before tips pile on.

Hope you got a better CAI to compliment all your go fast parts. That snorkel is basically a restrictor plate and headaches for tuning.

Not at the moment. limited in options in CA so I guess it all depends what I can get and if it’s more open or still sealed.

but a new Intake and more open exhaust is def on my list.

TRD Gen1 intake or Volant with a trd lid from @Coupe. Makes it easier to pass (visual) smog every 2x years.

I was thinking of the TRD at least since I can grab a sticker for that. I didn’t realize there we’re differs versions. Too bad AI didn’t buy one during the 40% slaw Toyota did last year just for the price it was cheap.

Volant would be nice, my buddy has that same setup.

Yeah but I'm here it is really difficult to find one of those in the wild isn't it?

I wouldn't mind switching to something that will be smog friendly as it has a CARB EO# that smog Nazi Commiefornia needs.

What is the difference in TRD intakes if you can find one? I did not realize there were difference versions.

At the point of mixing and matching 4-runner and FJ cruiser intake parts. Why not go with the gen 2 TRD intake. I did that. I know it's pricey. But emissions legal. It even has a line to cut it short when used with the supercharger. The Dyno that Toyota had for it showed good power and torque in all the useable ranges. Shop around and you will be able to save a little on it.

I know we’ve talked about the California rules on mods but it still shocks me that even for a cai it’s a pain to do.

Gen 1 has CARB certification from what I remember. Gen 2 does not.

You have that backwards my friend. i bought the second gen because it is carb legal. I can take the pic on the carb sticker if you would like. lol!
To be honest, I'm not sure about the first gen intake.

I think what @12TRDTacoma means is the gen2.5 trucks (2012-2015) are not carb legal. Both trd cai systems are made for 05-11 only. With the first gen version being made by AFE and the 2nd gen version made by k&n.
