Not sure what the dealership was doing with my wheel. This is the 2nd time I picked up my truck in my total of 25,000 miles and my steering wheel would shake above 60 mph. My other 3 wheels are fine but this one seems to have excessive amounts of wheel weights. So much that they even double stacked it to get it balance right. So much for a tire rotation and oil changeIMG_20200312_174814.jpg IMG_20200312_175241.jpg

I stopped using the Toyota care service after the 10k, shouldn't have used them at all.

It's wallpapering. They wanted to decorate it for you. The dealers way of bedazzling!

Scrap off every one of those and get it redone. Tell them they fell off. And killed someone

Assuming that’s a factory wheel, I’d be demanding a new wheel.

That is messed up. If the tire truly needs that much weight to balance then you have something wrong and it needs to be replaced.

Who did you piss off in the service department? You mess around with one of the quick lubes girls? I wonder if it was the guys last day, and was like F this place.

From the looks of the weights, if a good tire tech should be able to balance that out with less then 100g of weight.

EDIT: From the look of those weights, they have been on there a while. They are all very dirty. And are not factory weights. That would explain why 2x now you have had a vibration in the front. Both times that wheel has been rotated back to the front it caused your vibration. Put that much out of balance in the front and the wheel would shake out of your hand.

    Obviously that's not right.

You should have a new tire or wheel. Or both.

And / or they should have a new employee or supervisor. Or both.

Unless this is just a Friday faux 'get the lead out' post.

    Total fail.

Sounds like you have a bad tire maybe. Contact dealer manager and see what they'll do. Show the photo to him and tell him you're going to contact Toyota corporate if they won't address it properly. Should be easy to resolve since, well.... CLEARLY there's a problem

OP. I'm calling BS on this. You have put on M/T tires. These are NOT OEM. So unless the dealer mounted and balanced these for you. I'd stop bashing the dealership.

Curious to know why only one of my wheels has this on it. The tires I did swap to m/t yet all other wheels has one strip of wheel weights. They didn't say anything about the wheel weights. Didn't road test the vehicle. Didnt point anything out.

We are curious to know why also....

Did the dealership mount/balance those tires?

Stories like this is why I'm not even taking it in for the free oil changes and tire rotations. I'll do my own oil changes and Discount gives me free tire rotations since I already swap the wheels.
