Well I am hoping to replace those damn thorny trees with a few Apple and Pear trees so maybe the lions will be deterred by fruit instead, lol.

If the Coronavirus ever caused the price of houses to drop that low, I'd buy a whole neighborhood and give a house to each of my closest friends and family members!

I originally posted this question HERE.

Random question from a longtime HVAC enthusiast/possible future HVAC tech who's never been to Alaska...

How many of you guys and gals from Alaska have central A/C in your homes? I've looked online and seen a few houses for sale in Anchorage, Fairbanks, and Juneau that have either central air or ductless mini-split systems; How often does it exceed 75°F in certain parts of Alaska?

If I moved to certain parts of Alaska and bought a house, I would probably put central air in not because it's necessarily needed, but because of my allergies and to control humidity; I don't know how bad pollen and other allergens can be in the more mild parts of Alaska, but I live in Pennsylvania and I'm sometimes forced to turn on the A/C in my house when it's 55-65°F outside because of my allergies. I also do not like humidity when I'm trying to sleep, so I'll shut my bedroom window and turn on the air if it's particularly humid, even if it's below 70°F outside.

If I were to build a new home in Alaska, anywhere south of the Yukon River, I would most certainly put central A/C in it!

I looked on Zillow and found a huge place in Juneau I believe that had one of those Mitsubishi Mr. Slim units...

I find it hard to believe that absolutely nobody in Anchorage has central air!

This last summer it got awfully hot, but normally we never stay above 75 save a couple nights a year.
