I'm sure I'll get a ton of crap for starting a water storage thread (there is probably a beaten to death thread somewhere).
I need to figure out some water storage ideas both for rinsing off and for safe drinking water.
I have researched both Waterport and Lifesaver Jerry cans. I would like one with a nozzle of sorts and pressurized is always nice. But I would love to mount it to my KBVoodoo rack, either on the underside or on the side rail.

Any ideas guys? I would like to stay away from homemade options.

6 water jerry's fit between the wheel wells. Add a 12v seaflo pump in a bed cubby and you have 30 gals of water on demand.

PVC pipe can be made into a pretty decent water tank that mounts to the bed rail tracks.

    Thanks for the ideas everyone!
Again, I would like to keep the homemade water storage away from the Tacoma lol

Can a Jerry can be mounted underneath the rack?

depends on which rack of KBVoodoo you use, but it looks like it.

Alright, I have the mid height. Obviously I would have to measure clearance, but I haven't been able to find a mount that looks capable of being bolted on the top for usage underneath the rack.

Another solution I discovered is the 5 gallon OD green water jug by SXMA. $150 for the jug and locking mount. This might be the best option for me.

I've recently been looking for good Jerry can type water containers, after reading lots of reviews and watching a drop test I settled on LCI containers, they're the company that makes them for the military so they only come in sand or OD with "property of US government" stamped into the plastic, but they seemed to be the thickest plastic, and the opening unlike most was large enough to get your whole hand through for cleaning the inside, they're around $60-75 on Amazon and ebay, but only $23 directly from LCI website, with free shipping if you buy at least 3 of them.

That thing is way overpriced. I can buy 2 5gal water jerries from LCI for that price all day. They come to just over the top of my bed rail on my '15 so with your deeper bed, I think they'd sit flush with the top of the bed rail.

It is expensive, but I like the fact that I can mount it to the side of my rack, out of the bed. I bring a ton of supplies in the bed when camping and need all the space I can get. If I can find a mount for those LCI Jerry cans that will work underneath the rack (attached to the rack) then I'm sold.
Also, I am running a tonneau cover

At one point there was a storage solution that had long tanks tucked up under the cab. Almost where a slider would go but tucked up above the frame. Has anyone seen this or was this design proven to be flawed?

Heads up, These are really expensive IMO. But the concept is pretty cool, especially for those that have their Spare Tire mounted elsewhere. This has been on my radar. For now I’ve just been using Jerry Cans.

Is there a reason nobody is talking about the rotopax 2 gallon solutions? They’re wicked expensive, and kinda small, but don’t they meet the requirements?

Right now I use (2) 5 Gal Front Runner plastic jerry cans with upgraded brass nozzles with hose threads.

Front Runner has multiple different water storage options to fit just about anywhere - including behind seats or up against the front bed.

I bought a teardrop trailer and need to roll my own water storage and will probably go with ABS pipe...

I bought a brand new 16 gallon weed sprayer with a pump. Added one of those sink sprayer deals to it and also have an on demand water heater.

Scepter. Made in Canada. Decently sturdy and pours well with the separate breather valve. Leaks are minimal - none of you keep it upright.

I saw a YT video where someone used a 50gal semi-truck fuel tank with a small compressed air tank plumbed in as a regulated pressure water tank in the bed of a truck. He had a 1/2" slinky hose with a nozzle attached.

Was one of those big redonkulus "overlanding" trucks.

I wouldn't want to drink out of a fuel tank
