    Good Morning!
Trying to figure out the best way to go about doing a 2/1 to lift and level out the truck and fit some taller tires on it but without messing up the warranty I bought for it. Truck is a DD but does see plenty of beach action during the summer in OBX. Any help would be appreciated

It won’t void the warranty. There are laws against it. Granted, that’s a loop hole because despite your lift not causing any issues they’ll often find ways to make the problem suspension related.

My dealer here is pretty good so I don’t think they'd try anything, just didn’t want to give them a smoking gun ya know.

Keep it stock if you are that worried about the warranty. You can fit 32 or skinny 33 inch tires stock.

How big do you want to go? You can go up a size or two on a bone stock Tacoma and won’t have to worry. Some dealers will not warranty a modified truck and will laugh if you tell them about the Magnuson Act or something else you read on the Internet.

    Yuppers.

To the OP: I went the route of the 255/85R16 because I wanted a taller tire but didn't want to go in on a lift at first. Was a notable increase in ride height, both aesthetically and from the inside. Could be the route to go if you just wanted bigger tires and a slightly taller truck without the hassle of a lift and potential warranty concerns. The caveat being if you go with the skinny 33" you need to be aware of the wheel specs if you go aftermarket. The stock OR wheels have the perfect specs to fit the taller tire without any major issues, I never rubbed even off road.

It would cost you a bit more than 3rd party, but you may be able to have your dealer install the kit. May give you extra ammo if they ever tried to deny a warranty claim because of the lift. I have never had a dealer balk at a lightly lifted truck through 3 trucks (Toyota, Chevy, Ram). Though all 3 where 3" or less.

This is exactly why I ended up going thru my dealer, I specially asked about my 100K warranty and they said if they do the work anything that *might* flag as non-warranted due to the lift they would repair anyways under the Toyota warranty.

The total difference was just over $200 so it was a peace-of-mind thing for me.

Look at an OME suspension kit from ToyTech or any of the other great vendors. Not an Icon, but you won’t find better for ~$1500. You won’t need to do control arms. Truck will be easy to align. And it can take you a pretty damn long way off paved surfaces. Ran one in my 2010. Just installed one in my 2020 with a 100k warranty.

Always lift my own rigs never had a warranty issue also nEver had any issues from the lift you will be fine. Expect normal wear and tear on ball joints and things of that nature. They wouldn’t replace those anyway.

The only thing voided are the parts removed from the truck.
