Thanks , and I would almost pay for the stay at a hotel if they do a good job this craps is getting seriously annoying not what @CVYota has gone through annoying but it is getting there ! The pixie wrangler was cool explained a bit about a different option for the gennie breaker slide connector / interlock versus putting in a separate switch panel. He was not thrilled about the service line from the main house panel back to the big shop panel it's "Romex" which in my world means the metal articulated armor stuff which it is not ( thick as my thumb black cable) . It is ok as I am not feeding the back shop from the gennie and I am not drawing enough unless I try to run my welder and full 30 A power to the camper trailer. Again though through conversation I am not running any of the welders etc for more then an hour continuously. If it becomes a problem he said I would have to change the cable out but till then save the money.

And if I had remembered the name I would have asked about it lol I just described it and then he explained it though the mechanical aspect is pretty straight forward the what all has to happen for that type of system to work is what he explained.

Not a fan of the breaker interlock. By code alternative power sources must be separated by mechanical means which can not be defeated. Double pole double throw disconnect switches can not be defeated. Many breaker interlocks can be defeated if panel cover is removed. Chances are cover will not be removed but possibly exists. With disconnect switch no mechanical means can be defeated. Personally for me, I would not install a breaker lock to protect myself and license. Each to their own.

I just got back from my local Grocery store "Stater bros " it's absolutely insane . Isles packed with panicked shoppers .even saw some with two overfilled shopping carts and still putting stuff in them

The store has plenty of water but was limiting two cases only . The isles/ shelfs with paper towels and toilet paper is wiped clean . The shelfs are bare were the cleaning products and hand soap is , even gallon jugs of Clorox bleach are gone

I just went to the store for my normal Friday afternoon resupply and picked up a few items .When I got to the checkout lane I had someone ask me if that was all I was buying and I said yes , that person just shook his head and walked away

When I left the store I saw one of the managers there so I asked him about the paper towels an t/paper . He told me (3) delivery trucks came at 0430hrs and delivered a couple hundred packages of paper towels and t/paper . It went on the shelf at 0500hrs and by 0545hrs they were sold out ..... wtf !!!!

As for myself I've still have 15 rolls of paper towels and 6 rolls of t/paper left , that should last me 3-4 months

Talking to my Brother this Morning he said almost all the stores in Oahu have been picked clean

    Legal here.

To be honest if mr homeowner wants to fuck around with shit he knows nothing about and starts pulling panel covers then let’s nature take its course.

Seems like it is a bit less expensive option for now and when and if I step up to the larger auto run gen set have the separate transfer / auto transfer installed then and quite possibly have the cable feeding the back shop changed out. This whole deal is running about $22.1 K . I still have windows to do for about $7.2K so , I take a little less hit now get the windows done maybe this fall and be ready for the propane gennie next year .

    The paranoia has begun.
A girl I work with was out to lunch with her mom. She was wearing her Mercury Marine jacket and some women started looking at her funny. Then one of them said to her that she shouldn't be out because she might have the virus. She should be at home.

You should still be well stocked with ketchup:D

Bullshit. When an alternative power source is introduced into the grid, it energizes the secondary of the transformer which creates line voltage into the grid a lineman is working on which should be denergized. So you are placing workers @ risk of injury or death because of your Harry homeowner cheap install. God forbid a linemen gets hurt because they WILL find the source of suspect power. Again each to their own.
