I went through something similar. NOT as extreme, but still similar. I'd say about 95% of everything I own is in my storage unit. I've been moving from place to place since right around ending of 2015 begining of 2016. I was moving just about yearly.

It got so bad I rented a smaller storage unit as a temporary. :goingcrazy:

Finally starting to stabilize, but hoping to get a better paying job eventually. I like where I work, but I could find something even better I'm sure?

But yeah, I do know the pain somewhat and it does SUCK!!!

I'm headed out today to a farm that is on the bluff side of the Great Pee Dee river where it's rumored that Francis Marion and his men may have camped during the Revolutionary War. There are also several old home foundations there. We shall see...yall wish me luck. :fingerscrossed:

Well, I didn't find anything of importance today, but it's there. I found LOTS of square nails and some gravestones from the 1830s. I will be able to go back pretty much whenever, but it could take a while to get into the good stuff because the property is about 2800 acres with about 5 miles of high-bluff riverbank.

Wow! That sounds like a great place to swing a coil! 1830's sounds very cool! And hopefully the site covers a lot of ground so you can work it for a long period of time.
    Good luck!

Yeah, my understanding is that if you find "square nails" that is typically a good area to look at?

I've never had the opportunity to do such sites, but that is what I gathered over the years reading others posts.

Square nails were replaced by round nails approximately around 1900. There are plenty of variations on when they stopped being used, but a rough guideline is, if you find square nails, the site is at least 100 years old.

I spent a couple hours at an old ranch site with the E-Trac and found a couple interesting finds, but nothing significant. I then went to the park with the Equinox and didn't do too much better. I did snap some pictures though:

I found a small clasp of some kind with a small stone set in it. it's kinda neat and I'm curious what it was used for. Prolly post it up on T-Net.

I also found a rim fire cartridge that looks rather old. Looks to be smaller than .30 cal.
