On the other hand; how many of us here fall in to the at risk group for the virus? Not many over 80 I'd guess but some of us are over 60 and/or have at risk health issues (me on both counts). This thing is not going to be stopped any more than the common cold but it might be slowed down such that those who might other wise succumb can be helped. Right now in Italy the elderly are being sent home because there is not sufficient bed space to provide care for all who require it and triage dictates that those with the best chance of a good outcome be treated first. The health care system, particularly ICU units, operate near capacity as a matter of simple economics and cannot respond to a sudden significant increase in patient load.
Thus the attempts to reduce community contact in an effort to slow the inevitable spread make sense.
The panic buying of toilet paper does not. The stupid is not in the institutional response, it is in the public's reaction. As nearly as I can tell there no evidence that the infrastructure that provides toilet paper is significantly effected. Mostly the same can be said for most of what is on the shelf at the grocery store. A person is or can be smart; people, not so much. K was right about that.
    Whatta ya gonna do?
    I'll shut up now.

Hope I don't get the neighbors upset wandering around behind Lesikar looking for your place.
