So yeah, tomorrow I will probably go see if any trails around Larch Mountain are open.

And Sunday I plan on being at Brown's Camp/Tillamook State Forest.

    Anyone is welcome to join.

Be careful with the low snow levels but have fun.

Yeah, I'm betting it snowed a good bit up there today. Might change my mind once I get out to Larch haha

I have hardly anything out here on the roads.

I was surprised, that's for sure. It's still coming down strong and hasn't let up!

This might come as a shock but my work gig was canceled due to recent/current events. The only reason I’m pissed is those funds were going to my personal 4.88 fund...

@TacoTim85 when are you heading to Brown’s tomorrow? Lauren is working but I’ll come play. Love to explore some trails.

Sucks about work... you'll get those gears eventually, brother. Might as well enjoy the day tomorrow!

I'm thinking meet up at the North Plains Chevron on Glencoe Rd, 9 am tomorrow. (Right off the exit from hwy 26).

10025 NW Glencoe Rd, North Plains, OR 97133

This is pending road conditions tomorrow morning. I'm not too worried about that, but it might slow us down some in the morning.

Glad you are still going out. Sorry I had to bail. If you want to borrow my radios I can meet up with you in Portland today. I would offer you to borrow my recovery gear also, but with the snow, I want to be able to pull someone out if need be.

All the trails are marked by type. Any trail marked "jeep" a tacoma can make it down. Now some of these trails you aren't going to want to go down without sliders. Anything marked easy should be fine. There are miles and miles of dirt / gravel roads to play on. Also near the area are a lot of forest roads that offer great views. Grab a map at the trail head or from a sheriff if you see one. You can also download one. It's worth the trip. Wish I could make it this time, but things came up.

Thanks, man. I appreciate it. I ended up buying a couple of those same radios you have... in stock at Walmart for $68 (two radios plus chargers etc).

So with the snow this morning I ended up doing an unplanned snow run near Yacolt. Got to use crawl control(could have just gave the truck more gas and powered over) but decided to try it out. I was quite impressed. Again, nothing I couldn’t have done with some more aggressive driving, but it made it simple. Just thought I’d share cause it was cool. Lol

Not totally sure. My friend lives up in yacolt. We went shooting but it was so cold we wrapped up sooner and just drove. There was a sick late 80s 4Runner in front of us breaking trail.

Been trying to figure out where we went exactly. All I know is we passed larch correctional facility and drove another 10 miles or so?....

If you drove 10 miles past the corrections center... depending on direction of travel, if south you'd be near the river in Camas/Washougal... if 10 miles east-ish you'd have been deeper into the Silver Star Scenic Area than I've been so far. Who knows lol.

So I did in fact go out to the Larch area around 5 o'clock earlier. Conditions were quickly getting worse. It was interesting, a little sketchy, and beautiful with all the snow covered scenery as far as the eye could see.
