What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

Thanks to the information on this forum. Yesterday I was able to replace the front brakes and rotors . Front/rear diff and transfer case. Normally I would only change the engine oil.

 

Dropped the trans pan along with flush and fill. I do most of my own work, but the make/model information available on forums like this make them invaluable. Such as getting the fluid level checked correctly. Thanks again to @MtnMan307 @jkuniverse and @Rick_Taco. Their heads up on the torque numbers for the pan bolt saved me from my own catastrophe.
Next up, raising clip on 6112s and changing Icon RXTs to stage 2.

Had a vibration / shudder thinking my torque converter was going but remembered how the truck drove prior to the 1 piece shaft 2 years ago.

dropped off my driveshaft where it was custom made and they found an slight defect in the tube and retubed the driveshaft for me at no cost. Excellent customer service!

....hopefully that’s what the vibration was we will see lol

Had the toyo mt's rotated and balanced yesterday.
Always pleasantly surprised how much smoother the front end feels after.

 

Sometimes I leave mine in the garage and roll down the windows when I have the smokers going.
Love that smell!!!

Did the tailgate security mod on my 2007 double cab, which I bought last week. $3.99 for a pair of clamps at O'Reilly's Auto.

My shudder and vibrations are getting worse! Please give an update whether the new tube fixed it. I’m wondering if I need to bite the bullet and get a 1 piece built.

Where did you get that shift knob?

 

It attaches to the inside bed rails and goes around my tri-fold cover. It depends how far out and high that you build it for it to work with your cover. I never open my cover, so I built it low.
Just do a search of diy bed rack on TW and it should pull up.

 

I went with the Dyno Tailgate lock. A lot more work to install but a great product.

On the GX the taco has been neglected lately

Its looks good and It feels pretty comfortable but I had to modify it to fit. The knob was only $17s, so I might end up scrapping it. If you do end up buying one, let me know and I'll give you a few notes on how i mounted it.
