basically i'm looking to have my entire truck coated in the most durable dent & scratch resistant material that can be had i just had a few questions about fading as i'm going with black. any help would be great i would do it myself or have it sprayed on it does not matter to me just so that i use the best product out there.

the truck is black. black is my favorite shade to have any car or truck. but black is a nightmare to keep clean and scratch free this is my third black truck and i'm tired of waxing it already. also line-x is some VERY durable stuff 60 mils of this stuff and you could probably heave a brick at it and it would not dent it or even leave any real visible mark. so door dings and parking far away from the entrance to any place i go would be a thing of the past. also i would like to take this truck off road at some point probably to bone the wife lol and in a black truck mud is a no go unless you want to be polishing it and waxing it for 5 hours when you get home. with this stuff i could wash it and not even dry it off and it will look semi gloss flat textured black and it looks sick. i'm into functionality and style and this product seems to have both.

how is it holding up i know its very tuff like abrasion resistance wise and resisting dents but did the color fade and did your old man spring for the line-x tra uv protectant? i'm unfamiliar with their product so if i spend the time and money to do this not to mention destroy my factory paint i just want to know it will retain its sheen for like 10 years or so. i'd be happy if that where the case.

i just requested a quote from a line-x applicator in delaware. lets see how much this will cost first lol. i think that the grizzly grip will come out much cheaper in the end. i had a buddy of mine use grizzly grip on his old jeep and it looked killer and it was tuff shit he rolled it and it did not leave a dent lol. haha after that i was like fuck sign me up. like i said the only thing that worries me is color retention.

he had it on his 06 and now on his 2010. both were applied before it was taken off the lot. they both have had a soft cover on it so they did not fadesince they were not in the sun very often. it cost like $400 for the bed so its not cheap. not sure this helps much.

I just had my entire truck done in Line-x. I had the rockers done a few months ago in black and the rest done last week in green. The green was done with Line-x "extra" which has some uv protectant to reduce fading.

Line-x holds on to dirt much better than the stock body. I rarely clean my truck but I think you would need a pressure washer to get it really clean. I think an all black full Line-x job would look great, but not in the same way that a stock black looks good.

I can't remember who said this, but I completely agree with him. They're gonna scratch the shit outta the paint to apply it. You might as well drive it now while it looks nice, then when the paint goes to crap you line x it.

i got a quote today from first state line-x! 2,000 dollars and whole job will be complete in 4 days! so textured line-x with a coat of line-x extra uv protectant. this will keep it semi gloss textured black for years to come. and not only will this stuff never crack or peel or fade it will resist scrapes and have HUGE dent resisting properties. i'm sold on it and i intend on doing this mod in march. after i get some sliders then a 3inch lift after this is complete. then i believe i will be done for a while.

I lost track thousands of dollars ago.
I thought about LineXing my bumpers, Rockers and sliders when i get them but I herd that if you hit a rock it will peel back. I'm still thinking about it but I have to do some more research first

Heavy stuff big tires drives like hell
It won't scratch though, 5 mins with a power washer will have it looking beautiful again... plus I like to keep my truck dirty, I think it would look better dirty with Line-X, than dirty regular paint.

I hope to have this done ASAP myself!

Its a truck dude... It will get scratched & beat up, if you are using it what it was built for...

If you are THAT worried about it. Sand it down and spray bedliner on the whole truck...
