Stock overall height?

Actually I have already decided not to attempt going into that garage. They don't even have one of those PVC pipes hanging from chains at the entrance to prevent incidents. Just a sign that says "6 feet/no pickups."

There is a garage a block away that advertises 7 foot clearance. Their prices are $20 for a car (same price) and $30 for a truck. Pretty sure the differential pricing is because most truck owners have no choice. My monthly parking cost will be $600 instead of $400, which is why I was looking into this at all.

At this point I just want to know how high my truck is! I am going to put it on a sticker on the visor for my wife.

Thanks for the suggestion. My roof does not leak right now and I am reluctant to touch anything involved with roof penetrations. I think there is already a leak risk associated with the centre high mount brake light.

Like I said, I'm just going to eat the extra cost of the 7 foot garage.

 

Smart move. My lifted FJ Cruiser would sometimes drag on the lift gate at the entrance to the garage I park at for work. I knew it would clear everywhere else, but it was always disconcerting. Ouch on the price. My parking is only $140 per month and I bitch about that. Especially when my last job was in the suburbs and the parking was free. Good luck.

 

I copied this into the first post so it's not buried:

First, note that my truck is a 2018 TRD Sport manual transmission dual cab short bed. It's an unusual configuration, has 17" wheels from the factory and mine is running on aftermarket winter tires (265/65R17 Blizzak DM-V2).

My static measurement was 1814 mm on the winter wheels. I have a set of KO2s on TRD Pro rims that will raise the truck roughly 11.6mm in the summer.

In the end, because 6 feet is about 1828 mm, I would have only 14 mm of nominal clearance. Because the dynamic envelope goes higher than the static measurement, it would be a really bad idea to drive into a garage advertised as having 6 feet of clearance. You might be okay, but you might have a really bad day.

I measured using this method:

1. Back truck into garage, suspend plumb bob over shark fin antenna to locate where to suspend plumb bob. I made a mark on the horizontal member of the garage door opener.
2. Drive truck out of garage.
3. Mount plumb bob, lower it to ground and make an aiming mark.
4. Back truck into garage, suspend plumb bob from the mark. I ended up about 3 mm above the shark fin, see picture.
5. Drive truck out of garage.
6. Use Bosch laser measuring tool to find distance between tip of plumb bob and the mark I made on the floor.





Laser tool shows 1814 mm.

Very thorough. I would have driven up to the garage entrance. Stopped. Got out and eyeballed it. If seemed too tight backed out and been done with it.

 

That's why I make the big bucks!

 

Then buy a second car that would cost you $200 a month and park at the $400/month lot if you have a space to park another car at home.

OR Uber from/to work if it makes sense for you financially and you can do whole bunch of stuff while in the passenger seat not to mention less stress while driving, no at fault accident, etc...
